Binghamton breaks ground on new track and field facility
VESTAL, NY (WBNG) — On Tuesday, Binghamton University brook ground on a new $5.6 million Track & Field facility.
Visions Federal Credit Union made the generous donation which is why the facility will carry its name.
Binghamton University Athletic Director, Eugene Marshall, gave praise to the track program and thanked them for their patience, saying this was a long time coming.
“Student athletes, they are the engine that drives everything,” said Athletic Director Marshall. “And particularly the track student athletes who have done a lot with a little. And for that I want to thank you coaches for your patience and your faith, thank you student athletes for your patience and your faith.“
Upgrades will include a new NCAA regulation track, renovations to the pole vault, long jump and triple jump area. The facility will also add new turf, scoreboard and stands.
Work will begin in the spring of 2026.
