The skiff was constructed by a crew of HCS&R volunteer boat builders and community service youth at their Tawas City Shop and raffle tickets were sold.HCS&R is a Michigan not-for-profit corporation and a federal 501c(3) organization. Its purpose is to encourage boat building, sailing and rowing in traditional regional boats. The group is actively looking for interested persons to join in building, sailing and rowing programs. No experience necessary.Construction is underway on the 2025 raffle prize, an 11-foot ultralight strip plank canoe with natural finish.The winning ticket (number 558) was purchased by Pinter at the Northeast Michigan Regional Farm Market in Tawas City. Pinter said he and his family will pick up the boat in the spring. They said it was great news and they are very excited to have the winning ticket.
