SDSU EARNS TOP THREE RANKING IN PRESEASON POLL
The men’s team takes its second-place ranking behind North Dakota State University with 32 points and two first-place votes. The men earned this ranking after winning both the indoor and outdoor conference championships last year. The women’s team ties in-state rival University of South Dakota for third with 36 points and one first-place vote.
Cody Larson will be a Jackrabbit to keep an eye on as the senior claimed two gold medals at last year’s Indoor Summit League Championship and broke three indoor Jackrabbit program records. James Pierce will also be worth watching on the sprints side. Pierce claimed gold in the 400-meter dash before assisting SDSU’s 4×400-meter relay team to a first-place finish at last season’s indoor championship.
On the women’s side, Lindsey Rotz will be the Jackrabbit to watch. Rotz made her collegiate championships debut in the 800-meter race, where she earned a silver medal behind North Dakota’s Brooklyn Brouse. Chloe Raw will be a freshman to watch for as the South Dakota native enters the collegiate scene with the high school indoor 60-meter state record of South Dakota. Raw is also a two-time state champion in 2024 and earned the Scott Underwood MVP award in 2024 and 2025, and the Dan Lennon MVP award in 2025.
