Syracuse Orange Volleyball: All 21st century team

Next up in our series of All-21st Century Syracuse Orange teams is women’s volleyball. We’ll pick two players at both outside hitter and middle blocker, along with an outside hitter, setter and libero.

Outside Hitter:

Polina Shemanova: Two-time AVCA Honorable Mention All-American. Three-time First-Team All-ACC selection. Holds Syracuse record for kills in a career (1,845).

Marina Markova: AVCA Honorable Mention All-American in 2021 when she recorded 492 kills

Right-side Hitter:

Kelly Duan– 2005 AVCA Honorable Mention All-American. Two-time First-Team All-Big East selection. Syracuse career record holder for kills in a single-season (537 in 2005)

ADRIAN KRAUS, Rochester Democrat and Chronicle via Imagn Content Services, LLC

Middle Blocker:

Santita Ebangwese- 2018 AVCA Honorable Mention All-American. Two time All-ACC. Holds Syracuse records for single-season hitting percentage (.425) and career hitting percentage (.351)

Sarah Morton– holds the single-season record for solo blocks (72). Averaged the most blocks per set in both the 25 and 30 point scoring systems.

Setter:

Aila Dommestrup- third all-time in assists and fourth in assists per set

Libero:

Joscie Kaup- led the Orange in digs all four seasons. Holds the Syracuse record for most digs per set and is fourth in career service aces.

The Orange will start the 2025 season on August 29th hoping to bounce back from a 3-17 ACC record last year.
