But in a sudden turn of events, AK was finally given the greenlight to proceed. All the way in Schaumburg, Illinois, AK became the champion of Combo Breaker 2024, his first Major Tekken trophy, giving the Philippines a glimmer of hope in the Tekken esports scene.
A 3-0 record in the Swiss stage, followed by a nearly flawless playoff run saw Elevate become the first Filipino squad and the first Garena-based team to win it all, an achievement that could open up the doors for aspiring CODM pros.
But their run wasn’t just defined by their flawless record as it also produced one of the best storylines in the scene, as the team assembled a band of nobodies to become the ‘Super Family.’
