The Iowa Department of Education recently released its BEDS numbers for the 2025-26 school year, which are based on 2024-25 enrollments for grades 9-11 at each Iowa school district. The numbers are used by the Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) and Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) to determine classification for each of their sanctioned sports.
The Upper Iowa Conference welcomes three new schools to the conference this year, which will be three of the four largest in the conference this year with the largest being Waukon at 298.
The smallest school in the UIC this year is Eastern Allamakee (Kee) with 62.
