Welcome back to the weekly minor league roundup for your very own Seattle Mariners! After a hot week for the major league ball club that has the vibes sky high, there’s plenty of news to cover down on the farm that should only boost the mood even further. First up: Tacoma.
Tacoma Rainiers

It was a successful week of ball for the Rainiers this week, taking four of six against Reno at home. Tacoma’s been looking really solid in the second half of this season and currently hold a three game lead in the division over Sacramento. If they’re able to keep this up, they’ll have little issue securing their spot in the playoff.
Harry Ford has been hot at the plate for the past few weeks, and he’s showed little sign of slowing down any time soon. Collecting a hit in every game he played in, Ford tallied a 6-18 week with a pair of homers and continues to be a key contributor in the heart of this Tacoma lineup. He’s got an OPS north of 1.250 so far this month and looks every bit of a big league bat at just 22 years of age. Barring unforeseen circumstances, it seems unlikely that Ford will be getting the official call up this season, though he’s certainly worked wonders for his prospect stock with his improved juice at the plate and seems to be a key part of this next young wave of talent. A cost controlled catcher with as much upside as he has is an incredibly valuable asset, and though Cal Raleigh is having one of the best catcher seasons of all time, Ford is sure to provide some help to this ball club in some way in 2026.
Luke Raley is on the mend and is currently rehabbing his tweaked back with the Rainiers for the next week or so. Launching a grand slam in Sunday’s victory, Raley’s rocking an OPS over 1.000 with three hits over his first two games back and should be able to contribute to the big league club sooner than later. It seems likely the subsequent move would be for Donovan Solano, though it’s utterly shocking he’s lasted on the roster this long and might just have some sort of divine ward that disallows him from being DFA’d. Whatever the move may be, it will be great to get Luke the Nuke back as yet another enticing option for this lineup that’s looking like one of the very best in the league.
Arkansas Travelers

The Travs took an L this week against the RoughRiders and fell a few games back of a playoff spot, however there’s still plenty of reason to be bullish on this team’s outlook moving forward. With as much star power as anybody in the Texas League, the Travs should be able to track down Tulsa and secure their spot for a postseason berth.
It was a successful first go of Double-A for the newly promoted Jurrangelo Cijntje and Colt Emerson, as both managed to get some major milestones out of the way in their initial tastes at the level. Cijntje, who made his debut start on Saturday, logged five innings of three run ball alongside four strikeouts on the night compared to two walks. Even if it’s not the most eye popping statline you’ve ever seen, for a first go of things at a brand new level, it’s a more than fine result that should provide a nice base to build on moving forward. Emerson, who managed to make a bevvy of web gem caliber plays in the field, additionally popped his first Double-A homer and has been hitting the ball hard consistently. As a freshly turned 20 year old playing against Texas League competition, it’s impossible not to get excited about the potential of this kid. He’ll be in consideration for the top ten of national prospect lists and could be a factor for the big league team sooner than most might have thought. Hopefully the two of them can continue to find success and become essential contributors to this team down the stretch.
The state of this Traveler lineup hasn’t been healthier at any point this season, with a legit 1-5 on a nightly basis. Being able to go down the line with Rodden-Emerson-Arroyo-Montes-Sundstrom is a massive boon for this team, and mixing in a rotation including the aforementioned Cijntje as well as Michael Morales only amplifies the talent at the top of this roster. It won’t be a cake walk by any means, but the chance to seize their playoff spot is right in front of them. With the final iteration of this team likely in place, the time to execute is now. Get the bats going, stay consistent on the mound, and the wins will take care of themselves.

Everett AquaSox
52-56
A tough week for the Frogs in the win column underscored the impact of losing two of the team’s top players to Arkansas, but there’s some hope on the horizon with a new face inbound that is sure to help alleviate the woes they find themselves in. As a reminder, Everett has already secured their playoff spot this season with their first half championship.
Big Ryan Sloan is PNW bound! The young right hander got the call to Everett after an excellent outing in Saturday’s contest and will provide a big boost for this team that needs all the help they can get right now. Sloan, who owns a 3.44 ERA this season, has shown advanced feel for pitching as a teenager and has steadily improved all season down in Modesto. The combination of command, polish, and raw stuff is remarkable for the right hander out of Illinois, and though he’ll be heading to a much worse pitching park in Funko Field, his arsenal should be plenty good enough to get opposing hitters out with ease. It’ll only be a few starts at most, but Sloan getting a cup of coffee in Hi-A as a teenager bodes exceptionally well for his future.
At long last, Jonny Farmelo is back on the field and playing baseball once again. The young outfielder has been out for the past few months with injury after briefly returning from his ACL tear, and now finally healthy, Farmelo has taken little time getting readjusted to the quicker speed of affiliated ball. Rocketing a pair of doubles across his first two games back, Farmelo has manned center field, made some nice plays defensively, and is finding his swing once again after missing much of the last calendar year. Whether he’ll be stealing bases much this season or opts to play it safe and let his body heal further is yet to be seen, but at this point, this is the closest we’ve seen to peak Jonny Farmelo as we’ve seen in a long time. If he’s able to regain the power he was showing off early this season while getting back to his excellent contact skills from last season, Farmelo will corroborate the notion that he remains a truly elite level prospect.
Modesto Nuts

Another split for Modesto this week, a tough look considering the paltry state of the opposing Stockton Ports. They’d received some recent draftee support, sure, but this Stockton team is not nearly the team Modesto has been all season. Hopefully they’re able to get things ironed out moving forward.
2025 thirteenth rounder Aiden Taurek has been quick to acclimate to the California League since receiving the call up to affiliate ball, logging multi-hit games in three of his first four contests. The former St. Mary’s Gael is hitting .438 to begin his professional career and could prove to be an intriguing late round bat from this year’s class. He’s a guy that profiles best as a corner outfielder and might not have blaringly loud tools, but he’s steadily produced every step of the way and should be a nice piece for this Modesto team in the middle of a playoff hunt.
Walter Ford continued to throw the ball remarkably well, working 6.2 innings this week and allowing just two runs with four K’s. Though the strikeouts aren’t jumping off the page, Ford has managed to pitch to contact effectively and is slated to be the team’s most consistent starter down the stretch. Maintaining his production will be key, but he’s given little reason to think he’ll slow down any time soon.
DSL Mariners
Yorger Bautista has been good not great this season for the DSL Mariners, but he was always going to be a project that took time to fully emerge. No need to press the panic button just yet; Not everyone can be Lazaro Montes, Michael Arroyo, or Julio Rodriguez right away.
