2025 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships: Schedule, streaming & results

The 2025 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships are August 20-24 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at Parque Olímpico inside Arena Carioca 1.

It’s the start of a new quad and a new Code of Points, with both veterans and newcomers ready to make a statement at this first major stop on the road to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. The colorful arena is set, with a stunning setup consisting of the Brazilian colors of blue, green, and yellow.

Individual Olympic champion Darja Varfolomeev (GER) had a slow start to the season but has found her stride at the right time. Other individuals to watch include Italy’s Sofia Raffaeli, Ukraine’s Taisiia Onofriichuk – who is competing at her first senior Worlds – and Bulgaria’s Stiliana Nikolova. Brazilian Barbara Domingos is sure to elicit the loudest applause whenever she graces the carpet.

The Americans are represented individually by 2025 Pan American all-around champion Rin Keys and 2024 Pacific Rim all-around champion Megan Chu. Keys made history as the first American rhythmic athlete to win a medal on the world stage when she won bronze with the clubs at 2023 Junior Worlds.

Olympic team champion China will face strong competition from Japan, Poland, and host country Brazil. Other ones to watch include Ukraine, Bulgaria, Spain, and Italy. The U.S. group consists of Goda Balsys, Annabella HantovGreta PavilonyteAlaini SpataKalina Trayanov and Natalia Ye-Granda.

According to the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), a record 76 countries are participating in this Worlds. Six countries are making their first appearance at a rhythmic world championships: Aruba, Costa Rica, Cote d’Ivoire, Paraguay, Peru and the Syrian Arab Republic. The event is being held in South America for the first time.

    • Determined after individual qualifying and the group all-around final

  • Individual ball
  • Individual clubs
  • Individual ribbon
  • Group all-around
  • Group 5 ribbons

Eurovision Sport is the largest streamer of the event, having worldwide rights to the qualifications (excluding Brazil) and European rights to the finals (excluding Russia, Belarus, and the UK). You can watch for free – you just need to register a free account.

Within Brazil, the event will be live-streamed on Caze TV’s YouTube channel.

Qualification routines from each athlete will be published on the FIG YouTube channel following the event.
