220+ Digital Learners to Graduate with In-Person Ceremony on June 8 at Washington State Fair & Events Center – The Suburban Times

Washington Virtual Academies (WAVA), a K12-powered, accredited, tuition-free online public school serving students statewide, is holding its 2025 graduation ceremony honoring more than 220 Washington State virtual learners with an in-person ceremony. The ceremony will take place on June 8 (2 pm) at the Washington State Fair & Events Center, Agriplex Building, 5th St SW Puyallup, WA 98371

Graduates

440 total graduates will be honored, including:

  • 225 in-person graduates
  • 215 will accept their certificates virtually

Speaker Details:

  • Omak School District Superintendent: Michael Porter
  • WAVA Administration: Executive Director, Susan Boyer and Middle School & High School Principal, Terry Ackerman
  • Valedictorian Students (this year we have 8 Valedictorians that will be recognized)
  • WAVA Grad Caroline C. – singing/performing with band
  • WAVA Grad Victoria R. – singing/performing National Anthem

  • Esports Varsity Graduates (that have participated for over 4 years)
  • Foster P., Haarun A., Jasper C., Ileye M., Isaac S.
  • Esports Students possibly returning next year as college interns: Josiah L. and Foster P.

  • Mark R. – 20-year-old graduate pursuing degree in pediatric infectious diseases, medical school
  • Jessica Ruby O. – wants to pursue a degree in education and become a WAVA English Teacher
  • Grace H.-H. – Direct Admission into Seattle University School of Engineering
  • Chance B. – Rodeo Student
  • Alanna S. – Nursing Student going to BYU
  • Josheph L. – student with autism and Aspergers graduating from WAVA
  • Rianna M. – going to culinary school
  • Megan S. – WAVA Graduate and student since Kindergarten
