Josh Hazlewood's indirect message to players leaving teams to prepare for WTC 2025 final

After the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was suspended for a week due to military conflict on India-Pakistan border, there were speculations that Australian players may not return for the remainder of the season. While Delhi Capitals (DC) Mitchell Starc opted out after Dharamsala game was cancelled midway, Josh Hazlewood returned after recovering from shoulder injury and made an impact in the playoffs. While a few World Test Championship (WTC) final-bound players left, especially South Africans, Hazlewood chose to stay and wrecked Punjab Kings (PBKS) batting lineup in Qualifier 1 on May 29. In the post-match press conference, Hazlewood said that it is better to prepare by bowling in the IPL to get the intensity right rather than joining the camp.

“…I’ve got to be bowling, you know wherever I am in the world, I’ve got to be bowling getting ready for that game (WTC final) anyway,” said Hazlewood after RCB reached their fourth IPL final with an eight-wicket win against PBKS.

“There’s no better place than I think out in the middle, obviously you’ve got to bowl more, more hours of training from time to time to build up for a Test, but to get that intensity right up, there’s no better place than the IPL,” he added.

Hazlewood stuck to Test match approach

Hazlewood had not played a game since April 27. He revealed that he bowled like the way he does in Test cricket in Qualifier 1. He was happy with his performance after coming back from shoulder injury.

“I don’t bowl too much differently in Test match cricket than tonight,” said the veteran pacer.

“(I have) worked really hard the last few weeks on the shoulders to get back and got some good overs into it the last sort of 10 days, and yeah it is feeling good to be back…

“…So, I was happy with tonight, the wicket helped obviously didn’t it? Not having to bowl fast yorkers or anything like that. So yeah it is feeling good to be back.”

With the new ball, Hazlewood got the wicket of captain Shreyas Iyer followed by his Australian teammate Josh Inglis. He returned to dismiss Azmatullah Omarzai and bowl out PBKS for 101.

Hazlewood has missed four games for RCB this season. Despite that, he has 21 wickets from 11 games at an average of 15.80. His economy rate is 8.30 runs per over.

People were definitely split on Jason’s fashion choice in the comments.

“Dude’s making his outfits speak way louder than his golf. He has a ton of talent not sure where he’s coming from. It’s a spectacle,” a user said.

“Serious question. How does one golf comfortably in this?” another asked.

“Walmart worthy,” a fan replied.

“solid fit, might need to get one for the fall,” another person shared.

“Kind of a rich homeless look,” another fan commented.

“10/10 no notes 🔥☘️” TW Legion posted.

“Big fire,” another user responded.

“The tour visor mixed with that pullover is honestly a nice look. Pants are leaving a lot to be desired. 6.5/10.”

WNBA star Paige Bueckers' girlfriend goes viral for special request

Dallas Wings rookie guard Paige Bueckers has had quite the week so far. From teaming up with Wingstop to getting showcased on national TV against Caitlin Clark for the first time this past Sunday, the ex-UConn star has quietly begun to make a name for herself.

With the assist of her girlfriend Azzi Fudd, Bueckers may have taken the next step toward stardom. In an Instagram story from Fudd which has since gone viral, more branding help could be on the way.

“Need some custom Paige/Wings gear,” Fudd wrote. “Who can help??”

Alongside some prayer hand emojis, Fudd made sure her followers knew she meant business.

“Legit offers only,” Fudd added. “I’m being so fr [for real].”

Since making its way to ‘X,’ the post has gained immense attention with over 2,800 likes and 100-plus retweets.

Some fans were baffled by the ordeal, as the team has continued to struggle on the court.

“She saw everyone’s reaction to the wingstop commercials and had to step in,” one fan commented.

“The fact that this is posted after people spent all morning arguing,” another commented. “I’m telling you she has a sixth sense.”

Another says she needs to go about it the right way, with the help of a creative NFL wife.

“Someone tell her to DM Kristin Juszczyk she’s a 49er WAG that makes all the custom gear for NFL/nba wives,” they wrote.

It seems Fudd has yet to answer anyone despite her outcry for help. After all, what is clear is supporting Bueckers no matter how desperate it may come across is one of her top priorities.

It also confirms, or reassures for that matter, the seriousness of their relationship for those who may have doubted it. To others, it may signal a sense of entitlement, though that is up for roaming debate.

For now, it remains to be seen whether anyone comes to Fudd to fulfill her request.

Donald Trump's Bizarre Claim Goes Viral After Club World Cup Final

US President Donald Trump said the original trophy of the Club World Cup was not awarded to champions Chelsea, as he claimed FIFA asked him to keep the real trophy at the White House “forever.” Trump said the trophy was left with him when FIFA president Gianni Infantino visited the US in March. The American President went viral for his weird behaviour during the trophy ceremony after Chelsea beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 to win the Club World Cup. Trump refused to leave the stage, despite Infantino working hard to get him away from Chelsea’s players. A video of President Trump refusing to leave the stage quickly went viral on social media.

Trump made the claim of keeping the original trophy while speaking to DAZN – the broadcaster for the Club World Cup.

“They said, ‘Could you hold this trophy for a little while?’ We put it in the Oval Office,” Trump said. “And then I said, ‘When are you going to pick up the trophy?’ He said, ‘We are never going to pick it up. You can have it forever in the Oval Office. We are making a new one.’ And they actually made a new one. So that was quite exciting … it is in the Oval right now,” Trump added.

During Infantino’s visit in March, Trump said he had “never seen anything like” the gold trophy, before stating that it would find a place at the White House. “If you like it President, it can stay here. Just on the 13th of July, you should take it with me to the stadium to give it to the winners – they can take a picture with it, then we can bring it back here,” Infantino appeared to joke.

Infantino also appeared to give Trump a winner’s medal during the presentation after the final, which the president put in his pocket before the trophy celebrations. The presentation ceremony saw awkward scenes, as Trump refused to leave the stage while Chelsea players celebrated their win.

Cole Palmer, who was awarded the Golden Ball as the top player of the tournament, looked the most confused among the Chelsea players at Trump’s presence on the stage. “I knew he was going to be here, but I didn’t know he was going to be on the stand when we lifted the trophy, so I was a bit confused,” Palmer said after the match.

The Englishman starred in the game and said he felt Chelsea had been doubted before the tournament. “It’s a great feeling. Even better because obviously everyone doubted us before the game,” Palmer said. “The gaffer put a great game plan out and obviously he knew where the space was going to be.”

Internet Drags Black NFL Father Over Ignorant, Racist Comments on Breeding

The father of NFL players Amon-Ra and Equanimeous St. Brown, is swimming in scorching hot water after many folks online took offense to his controversial thoughts on breeding. During a podcast episode with his sons, John Brown was unapologetic about his key to raising three star athletes.

A clip from the 2024 interview of the “St. Brown Podcast” is making waves on the internet again. This time, fans and critics are dragging the father and former bodybuilder for very obvious reasons. “It’s starts from the beginning. I believe in breeding,” Brown said when asked about how he raised three D1 athletes.

“You gotta pick the right girl and the right guy… I’m Black, mom is white,” he continued referring to the mother of three sons. But according to him, any more mixing races could mess up their genetics. “I’ve done stepped on it once, you can’t keep stepping on it because you’re going to mess it up. You’re going to weaken it,” he said talking to his sons.

Brown and his German wife, Miram, have three children, all of which went D1, with two currently playing in the NFL. Equanimeous is a wide receiver for the New Orleans Saints. Amon-Ra plays for the Detroit Lions. The third son, Osiris, played for Stanford University, but didn’t pursue a professional career due to a foot injury, according to reports.

Brown went on to warn folks to “be careful, you’ve got to think about that. I’m Black, I’ve got the black gold running through my veins.” But although the father was giving what he thought was good advice, the internet accused him of perpetuating a very dangerous narrative for Black people.

The “same eugenics used to dehumanize blacks is being used by them for the radicalized capitalist sports complex,” @binzwish tweeted. Racial Eugenics was the practice of sterilizing Black women and men in efforts to “control” population growth in Black communities, according to the Equal Justice Initiative. The racist theory was popular during the 20th century, following a selective breeding process.

Other folks on X called out Brown for telling folks to “purify” their genetics while also being married to a white woman. @noitsnottherr called him “strange” before asking, “What’s the point of procreating with white people if you want your sons to date black?”

Although there is little data on exactly how many pro-athletes are bi-racial in the U.S., experts suggest the amount has drastically increased over the past few generations.

Many, like @SportySailor, came to Brown’s defense. “He’s saying it in the most inflammatory way possible, but if you hit the genetic jackpot and possess elite athleticism, who you have kids with matters a lot.”

“He’s right and people can’t put aside their feelings to see reality in some cases | same goes for fighting | some races can’t fight at the highest level,” @LudisCharta added.

This isn’t the first time Brown expressed his theories on breeding. “Two elephants don’t make a giraffe,” he said in 2021 on the “Momentum” Podcast.

Another ring girl from the University of Alabama is going viral overnight. Marissa Ayers is attracting tons of attention on social media following her appearance at the Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano match.

Ayers is a Crimson Tide grad. The model and influencer has a massive online following. Her popularity is only growing after the women’s boxing outing.

Ayers has 376K followers on Instagram. She adds another 1.5 million on TikTok. Much of her content involves ‘Get Ready with Me’ videos with brand partners.

Marissa Ayers is going viral on social media

The Alabama grad has been posting video of her most recent appearance on TikTok in the days following the fight. Those clips have been trending with sports viewers.

Videos found on her account include images from the event itself, as well as behind-the-scenes content from the moments leading up to the fight. See her “making the ring her runway” in the video below.

The Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano fight aired on Netflix. Marissa Ayers seemed over the moon to be featured in such a high-profile, historic sporting event.

“I was just on Netflix,” she said in a video posted Saturday. “I still can’t believe that… Part of history for women’s boxing. It was so cool. The vibes, the energy, it was so loud. It was so much fun.”

Ayers is not the first ring girl from the University of Alabama to go viral. She’s following in the footsteps of Sydney Thomas.

Thomas gained online popularity due to her presence at the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson match. She’s since made headlines with her appearance in music videos, at sporting events, and at major entertainment outings.

She graduated early from Alabama this past May and is now making a living as a model and influencer. Thomas’s social media following grew by 500,000 overnight following her viral moment. Marissa Ayers could see a similar boost.
