he NASCAR Chicago Street Race and its official American Whiskey partner Jack Daniel’s announced the release of the 2025 “NASCAR Chicago Street Race” Single Barrel Whiskey, hand-selected by 2024 Grant Park 165 Champion and driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports Alex Bowman. This limited-edition selection marks the second annual barrel release in commemoration of the NASCAR Chicago Street Race. The product will be available for purchase at select retailers in the Chicagoland area beginning this month.
“Jack Daniel’s has been a terrific partner all three years of the Chicago Street Race, and at NASCAR tracks around the country,” said Julie Giese, NASCAR Chicago Street Race President. “We’re excited to host Jack Daniel’s in Grant Park once again this summer, and bring this limited-edition bottle back to Chicago to toast the 2025 NASCAR Chicago Street Race, July 5-6.”
Jack Daniel’s welcomed Bowman to its distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee on April 8, where the distillery team walked the 2024 race winner through the whiskey making process. As the reigning champion, Bowman personally selected the single barrel that will be made available for this year’s limited edition run.

United Kingdom’s Lando Norris holds off McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri of Australia to win Hungarian Grand Prix.
Lando Norris has held off McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri to win the Hungarian Grand Prix on a one-stop strategy and slash the Australian’s Formula One lead to nine points going into the August break.
Norris completed 39 of the 70 laps on Sunday at the Hungaroring on a single set of hard tyres while Piastri stopped twice and closed a 12-second gap to just 0.6 at the finish with a nail-biting chase to the chequered flag and a near-collision.
George Russell took a distant third, 20 seconds down the road, for Mercedes and his fifth podium of the season.
“I’m dead. I’m dead. It was tough,” gasped Norris, who started in third place – with Piastri second – and then went down to fifth after being squeezed at the start.
“We weren’t really planning on the one stop, but after the first lap, it was kind of our only option to get back into things.
“I didn’t think it would get us the win. I thought it would get us maybe into second.”

The win was Norris’s fifth of the season and third in the past four races to Piastri’s six. It was also McLaren’s seventh one-two in 14 races.
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc was a frustrated fourth after starting on pole position but losing out with a two-stop strategy and a five-second penalty for erratic driving as Russell challenged.
Fernando Alonso finished fifth for Aston Martin ahead of Sauber’s sixth-placed Brazilian rookie Gabriel Bortoleto.
Lance Stroll was seventh for Aston Martin ahead of Racing Bulls’ Liam Lawson with Red Bull’s reigning champion, Max Verstappen, and Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli completing the top 10 scoring positions.
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, an eight-time winner in Hungary, started in 12th place for Ferrari and finished there.
The Briton was lapped by the leaders six laps from the chequered flag.

NASCAR Cup Series announcer out at NBC after 10 seasons

Before the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season ended, it was confirmed that Rick Allen would be leaving the Cup Series broadcast booth on NBC (and USA Network) to make way for Leigh Diffey.
Many believed that this move came as a result of IndyCar’s new broadcast deal with Fox. With Diffey having served as the lead announcer for IndyCar races on NBC since 2013, the overarching belief was that NBC didn’t want to risk the popular Australian leaving for Fox to continue calling the open-wheel races.
Will Buxton ended up being named IndyCar’s lead announcer on Fox, with former NBC driver analysts James Hinchcliffe and Townsend Bell transitioning over to Fox to join him.
As a result of NBC’s proactive measure, Allen was replaced by Diffey beginning with the late August race at Daytona International Speedway, though he continued to call Xfinity Series races until the 2024 season concluded.
Rick Allen out at NBC entirely
But Allen, who had served in his lap-by-lap role for Cup Series races on NBC since 2015, had nowhere to go once the 2025 season began, and while retaining Diffey made sense, doing so at the expense of the longtime voice of NASCAR on NBC was an eyebrow-raising move, to say the least.
As a part of NASCAR’s news seven-year, $7.7 billion media rights deal, all Xfinity Series races were moved to the CW Network, and former Fox announcer Adam Alexander had been tabbed the lead announcer for those races.
Additionally, the Amazon Prime Video and TNT Sports broadcast booths for their respective five-race stints were announced as being the exact same, with Alexander leading those broadcasts alongside two of Allen’s former NBC colleagues, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Steve Letarte.
Earnhardt left NBC on his own after 2023 and took the year off in 2024, while Letarte is still set to serve as a driver analyst alongside Diffey and fellow analyst Jeff Burton on NBC. So the three-man booth is set to remain this year what it was from the August Daytona race up through November’s season finale at Phoenix Raceway last year.
Allen recently opened up about how crushing his exit was from NBC, and given the struggles experienced by a number of members of the Fox broadcast team, specifically at the Truck level, earlier this year, several NASCAR fans have called upon the network to make a move to secure his services for 2026.
But nothing has come to fruition yet, and so when NBC’s portion of the schedule begins with the Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway this Sunday, August 3, it will mark the first time that Allen has not been leading the way following the transition from another network’s portion of the schedule to NBC’s.

The 2025 Iowa Corn 350 will be held on Sunday at Iowa Speedway. The race begins at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday and is scheduled for 350 laps. Iowa Speedway hosted the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series from 2009-19, and many of the drivers in the 2025 Iowa Corn 350 field are familiar with the relatively flat short track. That includes Tyler Reddick, who was top 10 in Iowa all three times he raced there in the Truck Series from 2014-16, and is listed for as high as +1600 to win outright on various online betting apps.
If you’re looking for a NASCAR longshot to bet in the 2025 Iowa Corn 350, Reddick is a solid option and has been included as one of our three best darkhorses to win NASCAR at Iowa. Ryan Blaney is the defending champion, and he’s listed at +500 to repeat, according to the 2025 Iowa Corn 350 odds. The SportsLine Projection Model has nailed eight outright winners in NASCAR this year, and you can use its picks this week to identify NASCAR at Iowa longshots and then use the latest bet365 bonus code to get $150 in bonus bets instantly after your first $5 wager.
SportsLine simulated the NASCAR Iowa Corn 350 10,000 times. Here are the three NASCAR longshots to target, according to the model:
Best NASCAR at Iowa longshots (odds subject to change):
- Tyler Reddick (+1800)
- Joey Logano (+1600)
- Josh Berry (+1700)
Tyler Reddick (+1800)
If he can avoid there being first-time winners three times or more over the next four races, Reddick will almost certainly get into the 2025 NASCAR Playoffs on points. He’s 75 clear of Alex Bowman, the next closest winless driver in the NASCAR standings. However, he’d probably prefer not to leave it to chance and would love to get a first win under his belt to build some momentum after winning multiple races in the last three seasons. Reddick made the championship finale last season, and he’s sixth in the NASCAR standings this season despite going without a win through the first 22 races. Several books have Reddick listed at +1600, but you can get a little extra juice from DraftKings, and the latest DraftKings promo code delivers an additional bonus with new users earning $150 in bonus bets instantly after your first $5 wager. Claim $150 in bonus bets right here:
Joey Logano (+1600)
Logano needed an awful lot of luck to win his third NASCAR Cup Series championship, with Alex Bowman failing a post-race inspection at the end of the Round of 12 to unexpectedly vault Logano back into the championship field. Now he’s all but assured to defend his title with a spot in this year’s postseason and he finished sixth in Iowa last season, his first career appearance there at any level in NASCAR. He’s already in his 18th season and at only 35 years old, he’s a 37-time Cup winner. Yet, he’s almost always available somewhere at 15-1 or higher and that’s a profitable price point for a guy who has seven seasons with three wins or more over the last 11 years. FanDuel is offering Logano at +1600 odds, but he’s listed as low as +1000 elsewhere, and with the latest FanDuel promo code, new users receive $150 in bonus bets if their first $5 wager is a winner:
Josh Berry (+1700)
Berry pulled off an unexpected win in Las Vegas but he is still exposed to being the bubble boy if there are first-time winners in each of the next four races. Beyond that though, the 34-year-old just wants to further establish himself as a serious threat and this is a track where he’s had a lot of success. He qualified third at Iowa last year and led 32 laps before finishing seventh. He also finished 12th and ninth in his two NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at Iowa Speedway and has been dialed in on short tracks that measure close to a mile, finishing fourth at Phoenix and third at Loudon. After that performance last season, Berry is priced as low as +1700 elsewhere, but you can get this listed price at DraftKings and potentially win even bigger as a new user with the aforementioned DraftKings bonus code:

MILLVILLE, N.J. (August 2, 2025) – Bruno Ribeiro took his third win of the 2025 Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas) season in the opening round of the New Jersey Lottery SpeedTour weekend. In a wild race filled with obstacles and challenges for championship contenders, Ribeiro (No. 01 Alfa Cem / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) rose to the top to increase his lead in the standings.
With Ribeiro in second, Jett Bowling (No. 22 Bullhorn / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) led the field down the starting grid at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP). From the instant the lights went out, fourth-place starter Nicolas Ambiado (No. 55 Velox USA / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) looked to make forward progress. Reaching the rear wing of Ribeiro’s machine as they raced through Turn 5, the two made contact, which sent Ribeiro off track and allowed Ambiado to sneak by. From there, Ambiado turned his focus to Bowling, making the pass to take the lead with just over 18 minutes left on the clock.
After that, it turned into a race of attrition, as Bowling came down pit road mid-race due to a mechanical issue, losing two laps the field. Then, a late-race caution gave the field another chance at a restart, but with Titus Sherlock (No. 31 Rayne Nutrition / Ronald McDonald House Charities / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3) suffering a gearbox issue on the start, competitors were sent scrambling down the front straight. As they took the checkered flag, Ambiado led the way, with Ribeiro in second and Jake Pollack (No. 5 The NRP Group / Foreview Ventures / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3) in third.
Following the event, the stewards issued Ambiado a penalty for causing a collision. The drive-thru penalty was converted to a 30-second time penalty, which dropped him to fifth in the final results. Ribeiro inherited the race win, while Pollack was scored second and Sherlock was promoted to the third and final podium position.
Notes of Interest:
- Bruno Ribeiro claimed his third win of the 2025 season to extend his championship points lead.
- Jake Pollack earned his first-career podium with a runner-up finish in Race 1 on Saturday afternoon.
- With a third-place finish, Titus Sherlock earned his sixth podium of the season.
- Finishing fourth, James Lawley tied his career-best finish in FR Americas competition. He also finished fourth at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park last season.
- Anthony Autiello recorded a career-best finish with his eighth-place result in Round 12.
FR Americas is back on track tomorrow at 9:10 a.m. E.T. for Race 2 from the New Jersey Lottery SpeedTour. The event will stream live on SpeedTour.TV, with live timing and scoring available on the Race Monitor app. Additional news and updates from the weekend will be posted on the series’ Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Cooper Shipman Goes Three In A Row, Taking the Win at NJMP in F4 U.S.
MILLVILLE, N.J. (August 2, 2025) – After sweeping the weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course just a few weeks ago, Cooper Shipman carried momentum into the New Jersey Lottery SpeedTour weekend to win the opening race for Formula 4 United States Championship on Saturday afternoon. In a race with intense competition and attrition, Shipman (No. 14 Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) kept his focus forward to minimize his mistakes and capitalize on the misfortune of others. Turn 2 was a gremlin for several competitors throughout the race, with both Demitri Nolan (No. 5 Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F422) and Alex Popow (No. 55 Dr. Michael Thompson MS DDS PPLS / MLT Motorsports Ligier JS F422) eliminated from competition after contact with the tire barrier.
Kekai Hauanio (No. 29 N-E-Where Transport / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F422) paced the field for most of the race, but a late-race restart changed everything, as Clemente Huerta Raab (No. 17 Velox USA / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F422) pulled tight on his bumper and dove to the inside entering Turn 1. Hauanio dropped two wheels, giving the advantage to Caleb Campbell (No. 68 Kids Help Phone / Camtacc Properties / Legacy Foundation of Canada / LC Racing Ligier JS F422), who had darted forward from third. As Huerta Raab dropped all four wheels off the racing surface, Shipman slid into the runner-up position to take chase of Campbell. For the next three laps, Campbell and Shipman raced wheel to wheel, until finally, with just over four minutes left on the clock, Shipman drove deep into Turn 1 to complete the pass. When the checkered flag waved, Shipman led, with Campbell in second and Hauanio in third.
Following the event, the stewards issued Campbell a penalty for causing a collision. The drive-thru penalty was converted into a 30-second time penalty, which dropped Campbell to fourth in the final results and promoted Huerta Raab to the third and final podium position.
Notes of Interest:
- Cooper Shipman earned his third-career F4 U.S. win during the opening race at New Jersey Motorsports Park to extend his lead in the points championship.
- After finishing second in all three Ligier Junior Formula Championship races at NJMP last season, Kekai Hauanio finished second in F4 U.S.’s Race 1 to mark his seventh podium of the season.
- Clemente Huerta Raab earned his third podium of 2025 with a third-place finish in Round 9.
“It was a pretty crazy race out there,” said Shipman after the race. “I thought we gave it away there in the beginning, but I just kept my head down and waited to capitalize from the mistakes. Thanks to the Kiwi Motorsport team for giving me a great car—one that allowed us to come through from the back. I’m super excited to win today and super proud of our effort.”
F4 U.S. returns to the track tomorrow morning at 10:25 a.m. ET for Race 2 from the New Jersey Lottery SpeedTour. The race will be live streamed on SpeedTour.TV. Additional news and updates from the weekend will be posted on the series’ Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Gastón Irazú Kicks off New Jersey Lottery SpeedTour with a Win in Ligier JFC Race 1
MILLVILLE, N.J. (August 2, 2025) – Entering the New Jersey Lottery SpeedTour as the points leader in Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JFC), Gastón Irazú increased his advantage with a victory in the opening race of the weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP). Starting from the outside pole, Irazú (No. 42 Elia Group / Baly / Canal 4 / Ancap / Champagne Racing Ligier JS F4) had to chase down his Champagne Racing teammate, Roman Felber (No. 73 BioLongevity Labs / TownHall / Rebol / DWT / Matrix Mind Water / Phantom Fireworks / Champagne Racing Ligier JS F4), to fight for the win.
Starting from the pole for the first time in his career, Felber took control of the race the instant the lights went out, as Irazú went the opposite way. With Felber out front, Irazú fell back to fourth, leaving him to fight his way back through the pack during the opening laps. By the completion of their third lap, the points leader raced up to second, but Felber still maintained more than a one-second advantage. Skillfully hitting his marks, Irazú slowly chipped away at the gap. A half-second advantage at the halfway mark was cut down to a mere 0.339-seconds with five minutes left on the clock. Then, with just over three minutes to go, Felber locked his wheels up entering Turn 5, allowing Irazú to drive by and take the race lead. From there, it was clear sailing for the Uruguayan, who checked off his fourth win of the 2025 season.
Notes of Interest:
Gastón Irazú earned his fourth win of 2025 in Round 10 at New Jersey Motorsports Park to extend his championship points lead.
Roman Felber finished second, marking his first-career podium and improving on his previous career-best finish of sixth.
Drew Szuch earned his sixth podium of the season with a third-place result on Saturday afternoon.
Following the race, the stewards reviewed footage of the race start and determined that Roman Felber made a false start. Despite a five-second penalty being issued, the 15 year old maintained his second-place finish, as he crossed the line with an 11-second advantage over third.
“It was a difficult race, but luckily we could win,” said Irazú after the checkered flag. “I didn’t start well and it was really difficult to pass Roman [Felber]—we had a great battle. This makes a big difference in the championship with good points, so I’m really happy.”
Ligier JFC will be back on tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. ET for Race 2 from the New Jersey Lottery SpeedTour at NJMP. The race will be live streamed on SpeedTour.TV. Additional news and updates will be posted on the series’ Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Wayne Taylor Racing Tops the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Field at Road America – Speedway Digest

After a tough weekend at Watkins Glen International, Wayne Taylor Racing recaptured their form atop the charts in Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America action in the first race of the weekend at Road America.
From pole in Pro, Danny Formal and Hampus Ericsson led flag-to-flag to secure their third win of the season, and first since a weekend sweep of all possible points at the season-opening weekend at Sebring International Raceway in March.
The joy for Wayne Taylor Racing carried through to ProAm as well, with past Super Trofeo champion Trent Hindman and rising star Jackson Lee scoring their first win together in their first start as a one-off entry.
David Staab (Precision Performance Motorsports, Am) and Nick Groat (ONE Motorsports, LB Cup) also returned to the top of their classes for the first time since the first race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey back in May.
All four class winners qualified on pole positions in their respective classes.
The 50-minute race ran caution-free around the picturesque and packed 4.048-mile Road America road course, with the Pro race seeing first Formal, then Ericsson control the pace out front. Driving the No. 1 Wayne Taylor Racing, Lamborghini Palm Beach, Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo2, Formal gapped the field by more than seven seconds in his stint, pitted halfway through the pit window with 26 minutes complete, with Ericsson bringing the car home to the finish 8.153 seconds clear of second place.
“It’s good to be back,” said Ericsson, the younger brother of 2022 Indianapolis 500 race winner Marcus Ericsson. “Now we’re really getting into the championship fight, so we’ll see about tomorrow starting from pole again. I’m taking the start, so fingers crossed, we’ll have a W as well after that race.”
Pro championship leaders Will Bamber and Elias De La Torre were second in their No. 29 TR3 Racing Huracán and unofficially lead Ericsson and Formal by eight points leaving Race 1 of the weekend. World Speed Motorsports’ Scott Huffaker and Jaden Conwright were third in their No. 22 Huracán, so the podium today matched both Pro podiums in Sebring.
ProAm saw a nearly identical type of race play out with the No. 69 Wayne Taylor Racing, Lamborghini Palm Beach, Huracán win from pole position. The only time this car lost the lead was during the pit stop sequence. WTR drafted in Hindman, Formal’s full-time teammate in its IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2 variant, and Lee, who’d started races this year with Forty7 Motorsports. Hindman kept the car out front in his stint and Lee regained the lead after the pit stop cycle was complete, winning by 25.907 seconds.
“I’ve had a couple of podiums this year, but to be able to stand on the top step is awesome and it means a lot,” said Lee, the son of veteran motorsports broadcaster Kevin Lee who is calling IMSA races at Road America this weekend. “To get one for the boys is great, but to team with Trent is amazing. I’ve learned so much for him and the team this week, so I’m just super thankful for this opportunity.”
MLT Motorsports’ Darius Trinka and Tadas Karlinskas unofficially move into the points lead in ProAm in their No. 11 Huracán, breaking a tie with fourth-place finishing TR3 pair of Conrad Geis and Jason Hart. Another new ProAm pairing – Sebastian Vasan and Coby Shield, now aboard RAFA Racing’s No. 81 Huracán after racing two weekends with another team – completed the podium in third.
With WTR’s Am championship leading No. 10 entry posting a seventh-place finish, the door opened for the second-place rivals in the points to vie for the win. Staab in the No. 48 Precision Performance Motorsports, Lamborghini Palm Beach, Huracán made the winning pass on Lindsay Brewer’s No. 2 RAFA Racing Huracán for the lead on Lap 17 of 23.
“It was just super slick on Turn 6 where the No. 2 car just went a little bit wide there,” Staab said. “I was able to capitalize on that and get in front. But she put pressure on me the whole rest of the race. It was a tough race and she drove well, but the PPM guys put together a great setup for me and the car was awesome out there.”
Staab held off RAFA’s all-female lineup of Brewer and Jem Hepworth by 1.814 seconds to score his second win of the year and deny Brewer and Hepworth their first, although they scored their third straight runner-up result and fifth podium in the last six races. TR3’s Dean Neuls was third in his No. 70 Huracán.
Groat scored his fourth win of the year in LB Cup in his No. 57 ONE Motorsports, Lamborghini Newport Beach, Huracán after several lead changes over the course of the race and is unofficially back atop the class championship. He settled into a rhythm out front post the pit stop cycle and netted out a lap ahead of second-placed Jon Hirshberg, who posted a season-best second place result in his No. 86 Forte Racing Huracán. Stephen Sorbaro was third in his No. 94 ANSA Motorsports Huracán.
“I think we went our longest run all year without having a podium, which was three races, so we really wanted to get that right today,” Groat said.
The second Lamborghini Super Trofeo race of the weekend from Road America goes green on Sunday at 9:25 a.m. CT and local time, 10:25 a.m. ET, with coverage via Peacock, IMSA.TV and IMSA’s Official YouTube channel.
