MARIETTA, Ga., June 11, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Yamaha Motor Corp., USA, awarded more than $387,000 in grants through its Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative (OAI) in the first quarter of 2025, supporting efforts to protect and improve off-highway vehicle (OHV) opportunities across the country, with a particular focus on large-scale projects in Oregon and Georgia.
“Yamaha continues to support a range of projects that address challenges to outdoor recreation, and we’re eager to partner with those who share our passion for building and protecting access to the spaces we all enjoy,” said Steve Nessl, Yamaha Motorsports marketing director. “It’s gratifying to see these collaborative efforts evolve into large-scale projects that help make outdoor recreation accessible to everyone.”
This quarter’s Yamaha OAI grants supported 12 projects, including major investments in OHV riding areas and trail systems in Oregon:
- The Great Outdoors Fund (supported by Florence Motorsports) was awarded funding for Phase Two of an OHV educational signage project across the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, promoting messages of safety, stewardship, regulations, and recreation opportunities.
- The Rogue Valley SxS Club (supported by Waterworld Boat and Powersport) will use its grant to support trail clearing and maintenance on the 270-mile Prospect OHV trail system, with a focus on removing downed trees to keep riders on designated trails.
- OHV Construction and Conservation (supported by Power Motorsports) will develop a loop trail around the outer edge of the Tillamook State Forest OHV area. The “Tour of the Tillamook Powered by Yamaha” project encompasses 49 trails, comprising 17 double-track, 13 4×4, and 19 single-track routes, and includes trail development, restoration, maintenance, tree removal, and trail signage.
In Georgia, the Georgia Recreational Trail Riders Association (supported by Cycle Specialty) will use its grant to maintain more than six motorized trails and riding areas throughout the state. Work will include bridge repair, culvert installation, and signage.
Yamaha OAI grant funds also will protect California’s historic Perris Raceway (supported by Langston Motorsports) and continue supporting the All Kids Bike program, which teaches kindergarteners nationwide to ride bicycles as part of their physical education curriculum.
Additionally, Yamaha OAI provided grants to the following organizations in Q1 2025:
- Burbank Police Department
- Everything Outdoor Fest – D2 Powersports (Spartanburg, SC)
- Ft. Riley Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation – Brooks Yamaha Inc. (Manhattan, KS)
- Stewards of the Sierra National Forest Inc – Clawson Motorsports (Fresno, CA)
- Truckee Dirt Riders – Michael’s Reno Powersports (Reno, NV)
The Yamaha OAI continues to accept grant applications on a quarterly basis, providing timely resources to address urgent access issues and land rehabilitation efforts. While project types vary, Yamaha OAI prioritizes initiatives that promote safe and responsible OHV use, perform essential trail and land maintenance, and protect, restore, and expand sustainable access to public lands.
The application deadline for the second quarter of 2025 is June 30. Yamaha invites public land managers, riding clubs, and stewardship organizations to apply. Submission guidelines and applications are available at YamahaOAI.com.

NASCAR drivers throw out first pitch at Reds game

CINCINNATI – As Reds and Braves players imagine what it will be like playing in front of fans at the iconic venue of Bristol Motor Speedway, there are people who may have a pretty good idea of what they could expect.
Of course, that would be some NASCAR drivers who have competed there.
“There’s no place for the noise to escape,” said 2012 NASCAR Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski. “Whether it’s the cheer of the crowd or the crack of the bat when it hits the ball, you’re going to know it. And it accentuates. Atmospheres like that are so special. It’s one of the things I love about sports. A can’t-miss event.”
Major League Baseball will come to Tennessee when the Reds and Braves meet in the first-ever Speedway Classic in Bristol on Aug. 2. The track, affectionately known as “The Last Great Colosseum” because of its bowl seating around a half-mile oval track, seats more than 150,000 for races.
The MLB game will not reach that capacity because of the configuration of the playing field, but it’s still expected to be loud.
“I imagine it’s going to be a different type of energy,” said Cup Series driver Ryan Preece. “There’s definitely going to be a lot of echoing. The roar of the fans. I know they play in stadiums like this all the time, but I think playing at a racetrack, and you look around and it’s packed, it’s going to be a whole other level.”
Keselowski and Preece, who both drive for Kroger-sponsored RFK Racing, were in Cincinnati on Wednesday to promote the Speedway Classic, along with NASCAR on FOX pit reporter Jamie Little.
At Great American Ball Park before the Reds played the Marlins, Preece threw a ceremonial first pitch with Keselowski catching, while Little was tapped to deliver the game ball to the mound.
“We’ve never seen anything like this,” Little said of the Speedway Classic. “Major League Baseball going to one of the more iconic racetracks in NASCAR. Maybe baseball fans who don’t know NASCAR, they’re going to show up and they’re going to see so much of the history – just like here in this stadium. You’ll learn a lot about NASCAR just by being there.”
Little believed the event would click for fans of racing and all of baseball – not just those who back Atlanta and Cincinnati.
“Because people right now are all about the big event,” Little said. “And that’s what FOX is really good at, like Field of Dreams. That was such a huge success. This is another one of those. It’s bringing the worlds together, and why not? It’s a great experience. If you’re a NASCAR fan, you might not know anything about baseball, but this is something you’ll want to go see.”
While Little said she had never attended a Major League game previously, Keselowski and Preece are longtime baseball fans. Keselowski, who drives the No. 6 car for RFK Racing, grew up in Detroit going to Tigers games but will watch any team.
“I love going to games,” he said. “To me, it’s the best live spectator sport. It’s a combination of the atmosphere and the ability to watch the sport with a pace that allows you to enjoy the company of others. If you’re into stats, that’s something you can enjoy. It’s America’s pastime.”
A native of Connecticut, Preece lived in divided baseball territory. His hometown of Berlin, near Hartford, is about halfway between New York and Boston and an approximate two-hour drive in either direction.
“Half my family were Yankees fans. The other half were Boston fans. We went to Yankee Stadium and went to see the Green Monster,” said Preece, driver of the No. 60 car.
Because the NASCAR Cup Series will be racing in Iowa the same weekend as the Speedway Classic, neither Keselowski nor Preece will be able to see the game in person. Several former drivers are expected to be in attendance in Bristol, and both MLB and NASCAR have been cross-promoting the game on their television and other media platforms for about a year.
“I like seeing when sports collaborate,” said Keselowski, a winner of Cup Series races at Bristol in 2012 and 2020. “And not often does NASCAR get to collaborate with other sports because of just basic logistics. But this is a rare exception to that. It’s a one-of-a-kind event with a baseball game in Bristol. It’s one of those experiences where I don’t think it will be repeated. To put 100,000-some fans in a colosseum environment, I can only imagine what that atmosphere will be like. I guarantee it will be epic.”

In a world where long-tenured Nascar sponsorship is hard to come by, Legacy Motor Club is doing things differently.
The Jimmie Johnson-owned team just inked a major extension with its leading partner, Dollar Tree. The retailer, which joined Legacy Motor Club last year, will be continuing its partnership with the Toyota-backed team through 2028. The firm currently sponsors both of Legacy’s Cup cars with Erik Jones and John Hunter Nemechek.
“We’re excited to extend our partnership with Legacy Motor Club through 2028,” Rick McNeely, chief merchandising officer of Dollar Tree, said. “This continued collaboration puts our brand in front of millions of loyal NASCAR fans and gives us the opportunity to drive deeper engagement with customers in a bold, high-energy environment. We’re looking forward to what’s ahead with Jimmie (Johnson), John Hunter, Erik, and the entire Legacy MC team.”
Legacy is currently having its best year since it transitioned from Richard Petty Motorsports to Petty GMS, followed by Legacy Motor Club (2023). Nemechek is currently on pace to top Jones’ team record of six top 10s in 2023, as he has six top 10s through 19 races.
“It’s an honor to continue carrying the Dollar Tree brand on our cars,” Nemechek said. “Their support helps us deliver results on track, bring value back to their vendor partners and helps build fandom of the Club.”
Legacy Motor Club, under Johnson’s leadership, has made noticeable improvements on and off the track. The team signed Cal Wells III as the CEO, and it has a strategic partnership with Knighthead Capital Management.
Legacy Motor Club is currently in the midst of a complicated lawsuit against Rick Ware Racing over the acquisition of one of RWR’s charters. Legacy believes the team agreed to purchase one of Ware’s charters ahead of the 2026 season, attempting to expand to three cars.
Ware is arguing it is for 2027. However, Ware has an agreement to lease one of its charters to its strategic ally, RFK Racing, in 2026. Ware also reportedly inked a deal to sell his team to former Spire Motorsports co-owner TJ Puchyr, according to the Associated Press. However, Ware was not sourced in the report, leaving questions about the team’s future.

Porsche’s Formula E program returns to the Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit on 17–18 May for the Berlin E-Prix, the only event that has featured in every championship season since 2015. The team enters its home race leading the teams’ standings by 10 points and sitting three points behind Nissan in the manufacturers’ table. In the drivers’ championship, Pascal Wehrlein is second and António Félix da Costa is third; both remain in contention with four races left.
Berlin poses distinctive technical demands. The 2.34-mile course is laid on concrete slabs of varying roughness, forcing crews to balance grip and tire longevity. A mandatory 34-second pit stop will return this weekend, adding 3.85 kWh of energy at 600 kW through the championship’s common rapid-charging system.
Porsche’s recent form at Tempelhof is strong. Da Costa delivered the team’s first Berlin victory in 2024 and has three wins from 19 starts, while André Lotterer secured second place during the pandemic-affected 2020 finale. Wehrlein has twice finished in the top five but is still seeking a first Berlin podium.

After Sunday’s race, Porsche will field Ayhancan Güven, a Turkish DTM winner, and 16-year-old German driver Elia Weiss in the official rookie test. Both will use the current 99X Electric race car, providing data for next season’s development.
Team principal Florian Modlinger identified tire management and setup as key preparation items, noting that simulator work has focused on the track’s concrete surface. Wehrlein and da Costa have called the home event a highlight, expecting significant support from employees and local fans.

LEGACY MOTOR CLUB has inked a multi-year sponsorship extension with Dollar Tree, which will secure the iconic brand’s sponsorship of the multi-car NASCAR Cup Series program through the 2028 season.
The company first partnered with the organization in January 2024, as part of a multi-year agreement that would provide visibility to the Dollar Tree brand in all 38 NASCAR Cup Series events – between drivers John Hunter Nemechek and Erik Jones.

Over the last two seasons, Dollar Tree has adorned the No. 42 Toyota Camry XSE (driven by Nemechek) and the No. 43 Toyota Camry XSE (driven by Jones) in several events at NASCARs top-level.
“We’re excited to extend our partnership with LEGACY MOTOR CLUB through 2028,” said Rick McNeely, Chief Merchandising Officer of Dollar Tree. “This continued collaboration puts our brand in front of millions of loyal NASCAR fans and gives us the opportunity to drive deeper engagement with customers in a bold, high-energy environment. We’re looking forward to what’s ahead with Jimmie [Johnson], John Hunter, Erik, and the entire LEGACY MC team.”
The sponsorship extension comes at the same time as a surge in performance for the LEGACY MOTOR CLUB team, with both John Hunter Nemechek and Erik Jones finding speed as the series charges towards its post-season.
Entering Sunday’s event at Sonoma Raceway, Erik Jones currently sits 17th in NASCAR Cup Series point standings, on the strength of two top-five results and three finishes inside the top-10. John Hunter Nemechek on the other hand, sits 20th in point standings, with one top-five and six top-10s.
“Dollar Tree is a foundational partner to LEGACY MOTOR CLUB,” Cal Wells III, CEO of LEGACY MOTOR CLUB. “Their continued investment and commitment will enable us to execute our competitive vision and strengthens our ability to support championship aspirations.”
Jones, a native of Byron, Michigan, has been with the organization since it transitioned from Petty GMS Motorsports to LEGACY MOTOR CLUB at the start of 2023, bringing a consistent veteran-like presence to the organization.
“Having such a recognizable brand like Dollar Tree with us for years to come gives the CLUB stability and energy,” said Erik Jones, driver of the No. 43. “We are building a legacy together and hope to enjoy success for years to come.”
Nemechek is in his second year racing for LEGACY MOTOR CLUB, driving the No. 42 Toyota Camry XSE. In 55 NASCAR Cup Series starts with the organization, the Mooresville, North Carolina-native has collected one top-five and 10 top-10 finishes.
“It’s an honor to continue carrying the Dollar Tree brand on our cars,” said Nemechek. “Their support helps us deliver results on track, bring value back to their vendor partners and helps build the fandom of the CLUB.”
Dollar Tree will be on board the No. 43 Toyota Camry XSE for Erik Jones this weekend at Sonoma Raceway. The Toyota Save Mart 350 will take place on Sunday, July 13, at 3:30 p.m. ET on TNT, PRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.

Motorsport Games Celebrates Significant Month for Le Mans Ultimate and Studio 397
MIAMI, July 09, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Motorsport Games Inc. (NASDAQ: MSGM) (“Motorsport Games” or “the Company”) is today reporting on reaching key operational milestones for Le Mans Ultimate, the official game of the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and RaceControl, the Company’s matchmaking and online racing system, which provides enhanced access to online features, including championships, extended registration periods, and priority driver reports.
June was a pivotal month for the FIA World Endurance Championship as the biggest motorsport endurance event of the year in real-life took place – the 24 Hours of Le Mans, from which Le Mans Ultimate draws its name and inspiration. Motorsport Games and Studio 397 B.V., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company (“Studio 397”), planned and executed significant activities, updates and promotion around this extraordinary event.
On June 10, Motorsport Games delivered a large update, bringing support for Teams and Driver Swaps along with Custom Liveries for RaceControl Pro subscribers – the Company’s online ecosystem platform that supports optional subscriptions for power-users, granting additional features. Following this, on June 13, the Company announced an official release date for the game to transition to “version 1.0” full release away from Early Access, adding two new cars free for all players (Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR LMH and Mercedes AMG LMGT3 Evo). Finally, Studio 397 confirmed the addition of the European Le Mans Series to the game as an expansion to the existing agreement with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, the organizer of the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race.
The net result of June activity has resulted in new heights for the growing Le Mans Ultimate racing simulator title. Firstly, reaching an all-time peak concurrent player count– higher than the initial launch levels in February 2024 and over double that in the previous month. This latest title in the Company’s portfolio has also set a record for a Studio 397 product by generating revenues over the past eighteen months approximately eleven times faster than the prior racing title, rFactor 2. Similarly, subscriptions to the RaceControl service, which provides additional support to all our titles including Le Mans Ultimate, grew by 148% in June 2025 compared to the prior month, breaking all monthly revenue records since the new service was deployed in December 2024.
“We continue to be encouraged by the positive reception of the game, as evidenced by the achievements during this significant month for the title” commented Stephen Hood, President and Chief Executive Officer of Motorsport Games.
