A day after Mother Nature cut the Steelers’ practice short, she decided to give everyone everything they could handle with a hot and humid full practice on Saturday.
Predictably, it was something that Steelers’ head coach Mike Tomlin enjoyed, as his team continues to fight through the stress of the heat, “It was challenging in some instances, some self-inflicted wounds as fatigue set in, but that’s just part of the get-better process,” said coach Tomlin after practice had ended.

India’s soccer federation has dispelled speculation Xavi Hernández had applied to coach its national team, saying the job application it apparently received from the former Barcelona player was bogus.
The All India Football Federation said Saturday that it had received emailed job applications from senders claiming to be Xavi and Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola, but that neither was genuine.
Indian media reported that Xavi had applied for the role.
Xavi has been without a team since being let go by Barcelona in June 2024.
Guardiola, one of the top coaches in the sport, is under contract with City through June 2027.
India is looking to replace Spanish coach Manolo Márquez after he left the position by mutual consent earlier this month following just one win in eight games, and less than a year in the job.
The federation said Saturday that it has narrowed a group of 170 applicants to three unnamed finalists.

The 27th Annual Knoxville Interscholastic League Girls Jamboree featured 24 teams and focused on unity and sportsmanship.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A total of 24 teams took the field Saturday at West High School for the 27th Annual Knoxville Interscholastic League (KIL) Girls Jamboree. The day-long event showcased some of the area’s top soccer talent while also focusing on sportsmanship and community.
Programs like Oak Ridge, Hardin Valley, Webb, West and many others participated in the event. Teams played in 30-minute increments from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., giving players a chance to fine-tune their game ahead of the fall season.
Following the match play, athletes took part in a variety of individual skills competitions, including a 40-yard dash, juggling, placement kicks, long-distance throws, and goal kicks for distance.
But for organizers, the event is about much more than scores and stats.
“This is like a huge reunion,” said Becca Curtis, a parent of a West High School athlete. “They are rivals in high school, but they’re club teammates. So it’s great to see the parents and children out here together.”
The jamboree continues to grow each year, and organizers said they’re committed to keeping it inclusive.
“I’d like to have as many teams participate as possible,” said the event organizer Sonny Trotter. “Anyone who wants to be a part of it is welcome. The teams don’t pay anything — a lot of times you would, but not if I’m doing it, because it’s about the girls.”
