OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Ice skating has returned to Nebraska Medicine!
When First Alert 6 visited today, skaters were already taking advantage of the ice and the mild temperatures.
If you stop by, you’ll see several enhancements.
These consist of a brand new canopy, renovated hand railing, a cushioned walking surface, and upgraded stairs.
The entry fee for skating is $7, which covers skate rental.
Admission is complimentary for all students from University of Nebraska schools, as well as faculty members.
One employee from Nebraska Medicine shared with First Alert 6 that he enjoyed playing hockey outdoors as a child and takes full advantage of the hockey rink available at his job.
“It’s simply ideal to come up here on a lovely sunny day, spend your lunch break exercising a bit, easing some stress, and making the afternoon pass by much quicker,” he commented.
The rink opens daily at 11 a.m. and offers free parking near 41st and Harney.
It will be operational until February 2nd.
