RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Students from the Rapid City Area School enjoyed a shortened Friday.

With delightful, warm weather, kids and their parents put on their skates Friday afternoon.

KOTA Territory News inquired with some of the children about their excitement regarding school being out, and what they anticipated for this holiday season.

“The best part is that you can keep trying and should never quit.”

“I’m looking forward to spending time with my family and playing games.”

“It’s so lovely, it’s expected to be warm on Friday. But we want snow!”

“Snow and family, plus lots of food, Merry Christmas!”

The ice rink at Main Street Square operates Tuesday through Sunday, from 12 to 8 p.m.
