A number of the most formidable athletes on Earth are presently competing in Bahrain at the 2024 World Weightlifting Championships, and it’s been nothing less than exhilarating!
Defending Olympic champions Karlos Nasar, Olivia Reeves, and Rizki Juniansyah stand out among the prominent figures participating in this prestigious event.
Specifically, Reeves is eager to cap off a remarkable season with a world title, having secured an Olympic gold earlier in the year.
However, she will face stiff competition in Bahrain as SIX current world record holders from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, including Won Hyon Sim, are in attendance.
On the men’s side, Vietnamese legend Lia Gia Thanh enters the tournament as a leading contender after his victory in the 2023 55kg category.
Italy’s Oscar Reyes, last year’s champion in the 81kg division, and Mir Mostafa Javadi, who ruled the 89kg class, will also be prominent participants.
