STANFORD, Calif. – The Cardinal, ranked No. 4, will proceed in their season – they overcame No. 5 Princeton with a score of 15-8, securing a semifinal matchup against the top-ranked UCLA Bruins tomorrow. A total of 10 players contributed to the scoring for the home team, with the freshman trio of Botond Balogh, Ryan Ohl, and Will Schneider each netting five goals in their NCAA Championship debut.

The Cardinal surged ahead with a swift 2-0 lead, fueled by a goal and an assist from Jackson Painter. Princeton then responded with three consecutive goals, taking the advantage as the first break approached.

During the second quarter, CJ Indart scored to even the contest at three. Dash McFarland and Alex Gheorghe each found the net in the dying moments of the quarter, sending Stanford into halftime with a 6-4 lead. The Cardinal outperformed Princeton 4-1 in that quarter.

Stanford maintained a 3-2 advantage in the third quarter, entering the final period with a 9-6 lead.

The Cardinal dominated the fourth period, tallying six goals to secure the 15-8 victory.

Balogh led Stanford with a hat trick, adding an assist as well. Jackson Painter topped all players in total points, netting two goals and providing three assists. In goal, West Temkin recorded eight saves before Grifen Price stepped in as a substitute during the fourth quarter, making one save and scoring a goal himself.

The Cardinal advances to the semifinal against No. 1 UCLA tomorrow, after splitting the regular season series with the Bruins. The match is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. PT at Avery Aquatic Center and will be available for streaming on NCAA.com.
