PETALING JAYA: Wong Tat Meng expresses contentment with his 18-month coaching period alongside Lee Zii Jia.
Tat Meng, who assumed the role in July of the previous year, will part ways at the close of this month. Their final tournament together is set to be the World Tour Finals in Hangzhou, China, scheduled for next week.
“The goal was to assist Zii Jia in regaining his form and self-assurance,” remarked Tat Meng.
“It’s particularly rewarding to see him not just claim a place among the world’s top eight as he heads towards the Paris Olympics, but also to accomplish a podium finish with a bronze medal.
“That instance was a reflection of his determination and ambition, and I take pride in having contributed to it.
He also expressed his gratitude towards the fans.
“Your support has always been immensely significant to both Zii Jia and me,” stated Tat Meng, who appreciates the experiences he has garnered and looks forward to embarking on the next phase of his coaching journey.
