ROCHESTER, Minn. — The swimming and diving squads for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, both men’s and women’s, kicked off the three-day Rochester Invite on Thursday. Ben Keller (Sr. – Cedarburg, Wis.) claimed victory in the men’s 200-yard individual medley, marking the highlight of the Blugolds’ first day at the event.
HOW IT OCCURRED
- Keller completed the 200-yard IM in 1:50.82, outpacing numerous NCAA Division II competitors in the event.
- Although Keller was the only event victor for the Blugolds on the first day, several other athletes secured positions in the top four of their respective events.
- Molly Hosack (Jr. – Cedarburg, Wis.) finished second in the women’s 500-yard freestyle, with the men’s 800-yard freestyle relay team also taking second place.
- Kadin Denner (Sr. – Aurora, Colo./Cherokee Trail) and Blake Wallen (So. – Savage, Minn./Prior Lake) both achieved a fourth-place result. Denner placed fourth in the men’s 500-yard freestyle, while Wallen finished fourth in men’s one-meter diving.
- The women’s 800-yard freestyle relay also finished in fourth place.
WHAT’S NEXT
The competition will carry on through Friday and Saturday in Rochester. Prelims are scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. each day, with finals commencing at 5:30 p.m.
