YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The IUP track and field squads kicked off the 2024-25 season with 10 finishes in the top-10 at Friday’s 13th Annual YSU Icebreaker Meet sponsored by Southwoods Health Information. 

Justin Egizio secured 10th place out of 49 competitors in the men’s 400m with a clocking of 49.71. In the 5000m, Dan Gibney was the lone top-five finisher for the Hawks today, earning fifth place among 34 others with a time of 14:48.52.

Adam Wood and Cusatis completed the top 10 finishers for the men in jumping events. Wood was ninth in the high jump (1.86m), while Cusatis took 10th (6.77m) in the long jump. 

The women’s 4x400m relay finished fifth out of 12 teams, clocking in at 4:07.40, with participants Mackenzie Kirsch, Bella Brozeski, Sterlene Scott, and Cahsia Page. Page ended up in 10th out of 48 in the women’s 400m, with a time of 59.34.

Alyssa Hoover earned seventh place in the women’s 800m (2:31.49). The final top 10 women’s finisher was Jenna Wilt, who finished sixth out of 17 in the pole vault (3.40m).
