The inaugural National Signing Day for the 2025 recruiting cycle has concluded, showcasing numerous surprises, including a new leader in the 247Sports team rankings. Texas entered the day ranked No. 2 but surpassed Georgia to claim the top position after securing a commitment from five-star ATH Michael Terry III.

The Longhorns’ position at the forefront of the rankings is now firmly established. Although Georgia was anticipated to recruit five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry on Friday, Texas managed to secure his commitment, effectively ensuring that Georgia will miss out on consecutive No. 1 classes.

Currently, three SEC teams—Texas, Georgia, and Alabama—dominate the rankings. Two Big Ten teams follow to complete the top five with Oregon and Ohio State
