Quarterback Sam Leavitt from Arizona State is donating 100% of his merchandise royalties back to the ASU football’s name, image, and likeness collective.
The Sun Angel Collective, representing the university’s NIL initiatives, announced in a press statement that all of Leavitt’s earned royalties “across platforms and retailers” will be allocated to directly support the football team.
“Sam is not only an extraordinary player but also an impressive individual! His readiness to devote himself for his teammates, both on and off the field, makes him truly remarkable and an outstanding role model
for future Sun Devils,” stated Arizona State coach Kenny Dillingham in a release on Friday.
Leavitt was recognized as the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year on Thursday for his contribution to the Sun Devils’ 10-2 season and their opportunity to compete for the Big 12 title on Saturday against Iowa State.
The quarterback has amassed 2,444 passing yards with a completion rate of 63%, scoring 21 touchdowns and throwing five interceptions. Additionally, he has rushed for 350 yards on 90 attempts, with four of those resulting in touchdowns.
“Sam’s dedication to his teammates serves as a significant reminder of what makes Sun Devil Football exceptional,” commented An Angel Collective president Brittani Willett in the announcement. “We are excited to collaborate with Sam to ensure his vision leaves a lasting mark on the program.”
