The VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) 2024 concluded its most triumphant season yet, signifying a year characterized by unprecedented viewership, broadened leagues, and landmark victories. This season established new benchmarks for competitive gaming, highlighting VALORANT’s status as one of the fastest-expanding esports globally.
A highlight of the year occurred during Champions Seoul, which broke viewership records, reaching a peak of 9.13 million viewers and drawing in 44.38 million unique viewers. These statistics exceeded last year’s figures by more than five times, showcasing the increasing worldwide allure of VALORANT. Additionally, Masters Shanghai was a landmark occasion, with tickets at the Mercedes-Benz Arena selling out in merely 22 seconds and setting a new record for live attendance at a VCT event.
The season also witnessed the rise of new talent, with over 40 teams earning spots in the Challengers league through Premier. A notable narrative was Sin Prisa Gaming, which climbed from the Premier division to join VCT Pacific in a mere five months—a remarkable feat that showcases the opportunities within the VCT ecosystem.
On the financial front, the VCT achieved significant growth, with $44.3 million generated from digital goods alone distributed among teams, contributing to a total prize pool of $78.4 million. This financial success emphasizes the robustness of the esports industry, providing new revenue avenues and growth potential for teams and players alike.
As the VCT gears up for its fifth anniversary in 2025, the season concludes on a positive note, laying the groundwork for another year of growth and triumph. With the records established in 2024, the future of VALORANT esports is set for even more remarkable achievements.
