“I’ve recognized the necessity for enhancements around the park and within the skatepark itself, considering the level of traffic we receive here,” Warren told the council on June 23. “There’s nothing inherently wrong, yet it gets too crowded according to feedback I’ve received from individuals in other communities.”
Warren owns By All Means (B.A.M.) Skateboard and Scooter located in Windsor.
“I’m quite engaged with the skateboard community, and I frequently see children there putting in hard work. I want to ensure they have a better facility to compete with,” he stated.

Warren mentioned that the intense activity at the skatepark is causing the adjacent grounds to deteriorate.
“It might be beneficial to initiate fundraising efforts since there hasn’t been much assistance… since it was established,” he remarked. “I genuinely want to continue from where we left off, as the (skateboard) community has expanded significantly since it was constructed in 2012.”
Warren expressed his enthusiasm about the concept of a 24-hour event, something he had not encountered previously in the skateboarding realm, though it is present in other sports.
The only concern he anticipated with it being held outdoors and throughout the night was the possibility that the celebrations could clash with the noise bylaw.
Warren noted that several performers were scheduled to provide music at the park during the fundraiser.
VanEssa Roberts, the recreation director, informed the council that the town has already considered matters regarding insurance and security.
Coun. Scott Geddes mentioned that he would appreciate more advance notice for an exemption in the future but praised Warren’s proactive approach.
“I believe it’s crucial to acknowledge that as a community, we have numerous regulations to adhere to,” Geddes commented, expressing hope that the event will become a yearly tradition.
The council granted unanimous approval for the noise bylaw exemption for the fundraiser.
Warren invited the Windsor councillors to participate in skateboarding during the fundraiser, offering them lessons.
