ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The University of Michigan women’s gymnastics squad triumphed in its annual exhibition against Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan on Friday (Dec. 6) at Crisler Center. The Wolverines led the competition with a score of 195.600, with Western Michigan in second at 194.175 and Eastern Michigan finishing third with 191.700.

Graduate student Carly Bauman won the balance beam and uneven bars titles, scoring 9.900 and 9.850, respectively, while freshmen Sophia Diaz and Jahzara Ranger both achieved vault scores of 9.875. Kayli Boozer claimed the floor title with a 9.900.

Peyton Davis kicked off the competition for the Wolverines on the vault with an impressive score of 9.775 while both Ranger and Diaz contributed team-high scores of 9.875 as U-M finished the first rotation with a team score of 49.100. Western Michigan followed in second place with a 48.525 and Eastern Michigan had a score of 48.000.

Bauman led on the uneven bars with a score of 9.850, and Ranger secured second place with 9.750, positioning U-M at a total of 97.675 halfway through the meet. Eastern Michigan moved into second with a cumulative score of 96.700 while Western Michigan was close behind at 96.675 heading into the third rotation.

Boozer started strong on the beam with a 9.825, and Bauman concluded the rotation with a 9.900, bringing Michigan’s total to 146.575 as they entered the fourth and final rotation of the evening.

Boozer maintained her excellent performance, winning the floor title with a score of 9.900, while Reyna Guggino earned second place with 9.875, and Sophie Parenti tied for fourth with a 9.825.

The Wolverines are set to begin the 2025 season on Sunday, Jan. 5, with a trip to Denver, Colo. for a meet against the Pioneers at 2 p.m. MST.
