The initial segment of the Qatar Equestrian Tour – Longines Hathab wrapped up at Al Shaqab’s Longines Outdoor Arena on Saturday, featuring exhilarating seventh rounds of the Big Tour and Open Class (Hit & Hurry).
Khaled al-Emadi, riding Chikitaa, secured victory in the Big Tour 145cm category with an impeccable and swift performance, completing the round in 66.54 seconds.
Close behind, French competitor Cyrine Cherif finished in second place aboard Triple T Calamando Blue with a time of 67.07 seconds.
Italian rider Andre Sakakini came in third, riding Heavens Light H, finishing in 69.59 seconds.
Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al Badi al-Maadheed, Advisor to the Executive Director of Al Rayyan TV, presented awards to the Big Tour winners.
In earlier contests, Saudi rider Khalid al-Hady triumphed in the Hit & Hurry Competition 120cm class, steering gelding Capoen to achieve the most points at 33 with an overall best time of 76.51 seconds (43.51 + 33). His fellow countryman Bader Alfard took second place on Top Gun 90, accumulating 30 points in 74.76 seconds (44.76 + 30), while Qatari rider Hamad Towaim al-Marri clinched third riding Famous, also logging 30 points in 75.26 seconds (45.26 + 30).
The winners of the Open Class were honored by Taleb al-Saaq, former Secretary-General of the Qatar Equestrian Federation. The eighth round of Hathab Season 8 is scheduled for March 2025 following a break for international championships commencing with the Doha International Tour in January 2025.
