BECKER – The gymnastics team from Bemidji High School participated in their first competition with new head coach Kaleigh Porter on Friday evening in Becker.
This was Porter’s initial opportunity to observe the Lumberjacks’ returning athlete from last season, Aubrey DeWitt, who secured third place in the all-around event with a score of 34.65.

DeWitt, a senior, excelled on bars, placing first (9.1), fourth on vault (8.7), fourth on floor (9.0), and came in 12th on beam (7.85).
Kennedy Olson and Taylor Hanks also participated in all four events for BHS.
Olson achieved 16th on vault (8.4), ninth on bars (8.1), fifth on beam (8.65), and seventh on floor (8.65), earning an all-around score of 34.1, which positioned her sixth overall.
Hanks closely followed, tying with DeWitt on vault, finishing 14th on bars (7.7), third on beam (9.0), and 20th on floor (7.6). She ended up eighth in the all-around standings with a cumulative score of 33.0.
The Jacks also had two additional athletes finish in the top ten. Belle Reierson secured ninth on vault with a score of 8.6, while Ella Dahl placed tenth on beam with a score of 8.2.
Bemidji concluded the event in third place as a team, accumulating a total score of 134.75.
