FAIRBANKS, ALASKA – On Saturday, the Alaska Anchorage ski team claimed victory in the Alaska Cup against their in-state competitor Alaska Fairbanks, finishing 55 seconds ahead.
In the A final of the men’s classic sprint, Erling Bjoernstad and Derek Deuling secured first and second places respectively. Murphy Kimball finished in sixth position.
Peter Hinds triumphed in the B final, with Corbin Carpenter taking third, Parke Chapin finishing fifth, and Matteus Sokulsky in sixth.
In the A final, Constance LaPointe led a group of UAA women, finishing in second place. Beth Granstrom came in fourth, while Marlie Molinaro finished fifth.
Marit Flora took first place in the B final, with Astrid Stav and Dashe McCabe finishing second and fourth respectively.
Alaska Anchorage is set to compete at the US National Championships from January 2-5 at Kincaid Park in Anchorage.
