Following the victor, Messner secures his second podium placement in four competitions this season after achieving third place in the PSL event in Mylin last week. Messner is adding his name to Italy’s extensive roster of competitors.
Andreas Prommegger (AUT) achieved his first podium finish of the season. This marks the 68th career World Cup podium for the Austrian and his 56th individual top-three World Cup result.
Tim Mastnak (SLO) concluded his remarkable weekend in Yanqing with a fourth-place finish following his victory on Saturday in the PGS. Defending overall champion Benjamin Karl (AUT) delivered a strong performance, finishing in fifth.
While the Italians celebrated success at the top, they also faced some unusual challenges during the qualifying rounds. Two of the three competitors from Saturday’s PGS podium failed to advance to the finals. Maurizio Bormolini (ITA) was disqualified, and Mirko Felicetti (ITA) did not finish the qualifying round on Sunday morning. Edwin Coratti had already claimed a victory in the first week of the season in Mylin. However, he too did not make it to the finals on Sunday.
