FALCON ESPORTS is regarded as a potential dark horse in the M6 World Championship and with their recent victories over heavyweights like Selangor Red Giants and Aurora, they might challenge Fnatic ONIC Philippines effectively.
However, in this best-of-five matchup between the Filipino team and the Burmese behemoths, it was Fnatic ONIC that triumphed over their competitors, winning with a score of 3-2.
This victory guarantees FNOP a place in the top three as they advance to the upper bracket finals.
Fnatic’s aggression overwhelms Falcon
In Game 1, it took FNOP just 11 minutes to eliminate their adversaries, with Duane “Kelra” Pillas showcasing an impeccable performance using his Bruno. Similar to prior matches, Kelra’s strategic entries ensured his opponents were caught off guard with his unexpected strikes.
Support from strong frontliners, such as King Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez’ Fredrinn and Jann “Kirk” Gutierrez’ Chou, along with sustainability from Borris “Brusko” Parro’s Mathilda and Frince “Super Frince” Ramirez’ Faramis, ultimately overwhelmed the Falcons.
The second game was more extended, lasting 17 minutes, yet the score heavily favored the Hedgehogs. With a staggering 15-4 advantage in kills, Falcon struggled to keep pace with the Filipino team.
The Super Family effectively dismantled most of Falcon’s engagements, leaving Yehtet “KidX” Sithu with mounting challenges in finding opportunities with his Tigreal.
Pushed into a corner, Falcon adapted strategically, and it proved advantageous that Min “Beni” Kon could employ his signature hero, Bruno. He delivered standout performances in both Games 3 and 4, aided by the Burmese squad’s surprise double revitalize strategy in Game 4.
This led to the decisive fifth game where FNOP banned Beni’s Bruno, after which momentum shifted dramatically. The control seen in the initial two games returned, highlighted by Brusko’s impactful 18th-minute Raging Sandstorm, sealing Fnatic’s victory.
With this win, FNOP is set to meet the winner of the clash between RRQ Hoshi and Team Liquid ID.
