Today, Rosanna Law, the Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism, participated in a ceremony at the Hong Kong Sports Institute to commemorate Hong Kong Paralympic Day 2024 and mark the one-year countdown to the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (NSOG) (Hong Kong).

Next year, the NGD and NSOG will be jointly hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau from December 8 to 15.

During her address at the event, Miss Law emphasized that the Hong Kong SAR Government has been advancing preparations for the 15th National Games, the 12th NGD, and the 9th NSOG, aiming to encourage sports collaboration within the Greater Bay Area and promote the essence of Chinese sportsmanship.

She pointed out that Hong Kong athletes will compete alongside top national competitors in the upcoming games, providing an opportunity for residents to experience the events live.

She expressed her belief that this will bolster and elevate sports development in Hong Kong, spark public enthusiasm for sports, and nurture a culture of “Sport for All.”

Aspects related to the 12th NGD and 9th NSOG were integrated into the festivities of Hong Kong Paralympic Day.

The public enjoyed a display of a variety of sports that will take place in Hong Kong next December, including boccia, table tennis, wheelchair fencing, and para dance sport.
