BLACKSBURG, Va. — On Saturday, the hunt seat equestrian team from Albion College faced off against some of the top teams across the country at the Holiday Tournament of Champions, held at Virginia Tech University.
In the Open Flat event, newcomer Anna Huard earned two points for the Britons, achieving a fifth-place finish.
Albion’s only victory in this highly competitive field was secured by Beatrice Eng-McDonald in Novice Equitation. This triumph contributed seven points to Albion’s tally.
Finishing in sixth place was Melany Duenas Lopes in the Introductory division.
In the Medal Class, Phoebe Martin placed third, while Huard took eighth place.
As a collective, the Britons accrued a total of 17 points, landing them in 11th position overall in the competition.
The hunt seat team will be inactive until February 8-9, when they will compete at the University of Findlay.
