FALCON ESPORTS might just be one of the unexpected contenders in the M6 World Championship, having already triumphed over formidable teams such as Selangor Red Giants and Aurora, which positions them to challenge Fnatic ONIC Philippines effectively.

However, in this best-of-five showdown between the Filipino team and their Burmese rivals, it was Fnatic ONIC that showcased their strength, emerging victorious with a narrow 3-2 advantage.

This victory assures FNOP a spot in the top three as they advance to the upper bracket finals.

Fnatic’s aggression overwhelms Falcon

It took just 11 minutes for FNOP to take down their foes in Game 1, with Duane “Kelra” Pillas putting on an impressive performance with his Bruno. As seen in previous games, Kelra’s strategic entries consistently caught his opponents off guard with unexpected attacks.

The presence of strong frontliners like King Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez’ Fredrinn and Jann “Kirk” Gutierrez’ Chou, along with the support from Borris “Brusko” Parro’s Mathilda and Frince “Super Frince” Ramirez’ Faramis, added to the pressure that overwhelmed the Falcons.

The second game extended to 17 minutes but ended with a distinctly lopsided score in favor of the Hedgehogs. With a kill count of 15-4, Falcon struggled to keep pace with the Filipino team.

The Super Family effectively dismantled most of Falcon’s team fights, leaving Yehtet “KidX” Sithu facing significant difficulty in finding openings with his Tigreal.

Facing crucial pressure, Falcon adjusted their strategies, and it was fortunate for them that Min “Beni” Kon was able to play his signature hero, Bruno. His expert performance in both Games 3 and 4 proved pivotal, aided by the Burmese team’s clever use of a double revitalize strategy in Game 4.

This led to the decisive final game where FNOP banned Beni’s Bruno, and once he was sidelined, the dynamics quickly shifted. The control seen in the first two matches returned, culminating in Brusko’s game-clinching Raging Sandstorm at the 18-minute mark, sealing Fnatic’s victory.

With this win, FNOP will be up against the winner of the match between RRQ Hoshi and Team Liquid ID.
