GETTYSBURG, Pa. – On Friday night, the Dickinson men’s swimming squad resumed competition for Session One of the Gettysburg College Invite. The Red and White performed admirably, securing one individual victory alongside several Top-10 finishes.
The evening kicked off with the relay team comprised of Jack Engel, Daulton Kendall, Samson Qu and Justin Wong achieving second place with a time of 1:24.15, while their counterparts, Nolan Chenot, Frederico Colloca-Bianchi, Alexander Kanard and Andrew Kelley, finished in seventh with a time of 1:27.88.
Aidan Keillor was the first Devil to compete in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing eighth with a time of 4:47.84. Four additional teammates of the Red and White placed within the Top-20, with Kanard coming in 13th (4:54.39), Damon Buchanan taking 15th (4:56.86), Benjamin Brandt finishing 17th (4:58.08), and Matthew Ferenz concluding in 20th (4:59.94).
A group of four Red and White swimmers secured Top-10 positions in the 200-yard individual medley, spearheaded by Wright in fourth place (1:53.76), with Kelley closely behind in fifth (1:57.55). Lukas Nier and Paul Florio completed the group by taking ninth (2:00.37) and tenth (2:01.57) respectively. Joe Apat also participated in the event, finishing 13th (2:02.30).
The Devils secured first and third positions during the 50-yard freestyle, with Qu clinching the victory in a time of 20.75, followed by Kendall at 21.10. Wong also achieved a Top-10 time with his 21.74, finishing ninth. Engel was the next Devil to touch the wall with a time of 21.84 (13th). Colloca-Bianchi and Jace Pedicone also participated, coming in 21st (22.75) and 22nd (22.88) respectively.
To conclude the session, the Devils achieved another podium place as the team of Kendall, Qu, Wong, and Wright clinched second in the 400-yard medley relay, while another DC group featuring Chenot, Colloca-Bianchi, Kanard, and Kelley finished with a time of 3:33.77 for seventh.
