BetMGM has appointed Casey Hurbis as chief marketing officer, per details shared with Marketing Dive. The executive has more than 30 years of consumer marketing experience and will report directly to Matt Prevost, the company’s chief revenue officer, who described Hurbis as a “visionary leader.”

Hurbis is expected to use his experience with consumer engagement, digital advertising, partnership development and experiential marketing to spearhead “big-impact initiatives” for the company, which was founded in 2018 shortly after a U.S. Supreme Court decision opened the floodgates for a legal sports betting industry.

“Sports betting is one of the most competitive and rapidly evolving industries in the marketing world,” Hurbis said in a statement. “BetMGM is a brand with incredible momentum, backed by a team that is redefining how we engage and entertain audiences. I look forward to pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation to not only attract new audiences but enhance the experience for our loyal players to even greater heights.”

Most recently, Hurbis served as CMO at Rocket Mortgage, the largest retail mortgage lender in the U.S. Along with launching the Rocket Mortgage Classic with the PGA Tour, the exec oversaw consecutive Super Bowl commercials that topped the USA Today’s Ad Meter. Previously, he spent 24 years in automotive marketing, including a stint at Fiat and Alfa Romeo.

Hurbis previously worked with Highdive, BetMGM’s creative agency of record, at Rocket Mortgage, which could provide “greater synergies and success” in his new position, per a press release.

BetMGM generated $1.96 billion in revenue in 2023, per an earnings report. The company in February became the exclusive live sports betting partner for X and made its Super Bowl ad debut with a spot featuring Tom Brady and Vince Vaughn.
