BOONE, N.C. – The App State women’s track and field team will welcome freshman transfer Lilly Nichols to the High Country for the 2024-25 season. Nichols will join the Mountaineers’ pole vault squad.
“We’re excited to be adding a very talented athlete to our program,” said director of track & field/cross country Damion McLean. “She will provide more depth and quality to the pole vault squad.”

Nichols joins the Mountaineers after a stop at Arkansas State. Nichols’ personal best clearance is 4.27m (14′ 0″) and she was ranked seventh in the nation in 2024. She holds the state of Colorado’s pole vault record as well as the Polish U16 pole vault record. Nichols also placed fourth in the pole vault at the U18 European Championships. Additionally, Nichols competed on the Drift Motion club team under the direction of Connor and Cari Roberts as well as Andy Munoz.
Nichols plans on studying biochemistry while at App State. She enjoys writing and cooking and is part of the Polish National Team.
