With a chance to improve to 5-0 for the first time since the 2006-07 season, South Side did exactly that Friday night at the expense of its archrival, winning at North Side 66-50 to claim the Reichert-Hey Memorial Trophy, awarded to the winner of the annual Archers-Legends matchup.

The teams have split the six meetings since the trophy was first awarded in 2019.

Jayvon Irby scored 20 points for South Side (5-0, 2-0 SAC), with 19 coming in the first half. North Side (1-2, 0-10) trailed 36-25 at halftime.

CARROLL 46, CONCORDIA 41: At Concordia, Paxton Crane scored 27 points to lead the Chargers (2-2, 1-0 SAC) to victory in their conference opener. The Cadets (1-3, 0-1) led 18-16 at halftime.

HOMESTEAD 72, BISHOP DWENGER 40: At Homestead, the Spartans (4-1, 1-0 SAC) picked up their sixth straight win against the Saints (0-3, 0-1), taking a 14-point halftime lead before winning the second half 41-23.

BISHOP LUERS 81, NORTHROP 35: At Northrop, the Knights (2-0, 1-0 SAC) stayed perfect, getting 15 points from Dereon Truesdale, one of five in double figures for Luers.

Ahmad Salam scored eight points for the Bruins (3-2, 0-1), who saw their three-game win streak come to an end.

ANGOLA 56, GARRETT 44: In Angola, a 15-3 advantage in the third quarter helped the Hornets (4-1, 2-0 NECC) hand the Railroaders (5-1, 2-1) their first loss of the year.

Freshman Niles Knox paced Angola with 20 points and seven rebounds, while Tyler Ruple added 12 points for the winners.

CARROLL 75, CONCORDIA 61: At Concordia, Jersey Paul finished with 26 points, best among four for the Chargers (6-5, 1-2 SAC) in double figures.

Alivia Bolinger scored a game-high 27 points in a losing effort for the Cadets (4-7, 1-3).

HOMESTEAD 76, BISHOP DWENGER 34: At Homestead, the Spartans (10-1, 4-0 SAC) stayed perfect in conference play, knocking off the Saints (4-6, 1-3) for the 18th consecutive meeting.

NORTHROP 67, BISHOP LUERS 29: At Northrop, Swynn Jackson scored 17 points with nine steals, Khala Williams-Thomas added 14 points, and the Bruins (7-2, 3-1 SAC) kept pace a game behind league-leading Homestead.

The Knights (3-5, 1-1) trailed just 34-19 before dropping the third quarter 15-2.

NORTH SIDE 55, SOUTH SIDE 42: At North Side, Aubrey Bleeke’s 18-point night handed the Legends (2-8, 1-1 SAC) their first conference win since knocking off the Archers on Dec. 9, 2022.

South Side (3-9, 0-4) remained winless in SAC play.

SNIDER 57, WAYNE 36: At Snider, Janaya Cooper and Kyra Parker both scored 21 points to lead the Panthers (7-4, 3-0 SAC) to the conference win.

The Generals (8-3, 2-2) saw their seven-game win streak snapped.

COLUMBIA CITY 74, NORWELL 67: In Ossian, the Eagles (9-2, 2-0 NE8) picked up their second win over a ranked opponent this week, getting 32 points from Addison Baxter and 25 from Anisa Tonkel.

Vanessa Rosswurm led the Knights (7-4, 1-1) with 23 points, with Jada Dale adding a career-high 17.

BELLMONT 53, EAST NOBLE 29: In Decatur, the Braves (10-1, 2-0 NE8) kept pace with Columbia City atop the NE8, limiting the Knights (6-5, 1-1) to just nine first-half points.

JAY COUNTY 53, ADAMS CENTRAL 50, OT: In Portland, the Patriots (4-5, 1-1 ACAC) avoided the upset and picked up their first win in conference play.

The Flying Jets (1-9, 0-3) played both halves to tie at 23 before succumbing in the extra period.

BLUFFTON 66, WOODLAN 43: In Bluffton, Konley Ault’s 22-point, nine-rebound night helped the Tigers (11-1, 3-0 ACAC) claim the matchup of the last two unbeatens in ACAC play. Isabella Stout added 16 points and Maryn Schreiber had 13 for Bluffton.

Brooke Kneubuhler (16) and Alyssa Anderson (12) both scored in double figures for the Warriors (5-4, 2-1).

SOUTHERN WELLS 55, HERITAGE 11: In Monroeville, the Raiders (10-2, 2-1 ACAC) picked up their 10th win in their 12th game for the first time since the 2012-13 season.

After a seven-game win streak in the series, the Patriots (1-9, 0-2) have lost two straight.

EASTSIDE 70, PRAIRIE HEIGHTS 18: In Butler, the Blazers (10-0, 5-0 NECC) saw three players score in double figures, led by Taylor Mack’s 18 points, to improve to 10-0 for the first time ever.

The Panthers (4-7, 1-5) were limited to just four points in the middle two quarters.
