NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Northern Michigan women’s wrestling team competed at the North Central College Invitational on Sunday, where they placed 31st of 41 teams.
Northern totaled 14.0 points, picking up seven victories between six wrestlers.
Clarissa Wangen led the way with two wins in the 180 weight class. Wangen collected 5.5 points with a pair of victories by fall. Ruby Joseph also competed at 180, getting a victory via fall in the preliminary round. Mickaela Keane, also in competition at 180, added a win by tech fall.
At 160, Sophia Bassino added 4.0 points with a win by decision along with a second by forfeit. Samantha Chaon collected 2.5 points in her bouts at 138, getting her victory by fall. At 124, Zhivanna Magdaleno picked up a win by tech fall for 2.0 points.
