Neil Musgrove has been made a life member of Warrington Swimming and Water Polo Club, to whom he and his family have shown huge commitment and dedication over many years.
Firstly, Neil joined as a water polo player after watching his dad play.
His sons Ian and Glen followed him into the game, as did his daughter Hazel who represented Great Britain at the London Olympics in 2012.
A fourth generation of the family has followed suit, with his grandson Micah now playing water polo, and his granddaughter Iona participating as a swimmer.
Neil has held many positions in the club over the years, including a committee member, a lifeguard, chief water polo coach, vice chairman and now chairman.
A club statement reads: “Neil works tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of the club, attending most of the seven weekly club sessions and completing many hours of admin work.
“The club, established in 1879, is an amateur club run entirely by volunteers encouraging all local children in Warrington to take part in swimming and water polo.
“It is the only water polo club in Warrington, something Neil has promoted and encouraged participation in for a number of years.
“Neil is the heart of the club, providing a great opportunity for all. His commitment not only to the club but to the local community is outstanding and something to be recognised.
“On behalf of the club, we would like to thank you Neil for everything you have done and still are doing for the members of the club.”
