FORT COLLINS – Colorado State Athletics welcomes Christina Diaz as the department’s executive senior associate athletic director for internal operations and student success. A former student-athlete, Diaz comes to Fort Collins from Monmouth University. She will oversee CSU Athletics’ internal operations including compliance, student success and academic services.

“I am excited to welcome Christina to the Colorado State family. She has great knowledge and experience in supporting student success and fostering a great student-athlete experience,” Director of Athletics John Weber said. “Her time as a student-athlete and professional experience brings a great perspective to our internal operations. Christina’s drive, compassion and foresight to provide the best resources and opportunities for our student-athletes and department as a whole will continue to elevate our department and university.”

Diaz has been the senior associate athletic director for compliance, equity and inclusion at Monmouth since August 2023. During her time in West Long Branch, she oversaw the university’s athletics compliance and academic units managing 24 varsity programs and over 600 student-athletes. Diaz also served as sport administrator for three sports and co-led head coaching searches for women’s basketball and softball.

She helped organize multiple DEIB events at Monmouth including the NCAA Diversity & Inclusion social media campaign, National Girl and Women in Sport Day, Pride Game, Black History Month game, and Juneteenth.

“I am incredibly honored and excited to join Colorado State University and the Ram Family. This opportunity is a dream come true, and I am deeply grateful to John and the search committee for their confidence in my leadership,” Diaz said. “Colorado State is committed to academic and athletic success, and the holistic development of our students, staff and coaches. I look forward to contributing to that continued success as we attack our mission to be the most loved, most watched, and most innovative program in the West.”

Prior to Monmouth, Diaz was the assistant athletic director for development and enrichment at Penn State. While there, her responsibilities included working with all 31 programs in personal and professional development as well as championing diversity, equity and inclusion across the 850+ student-athletes.

Prior to her time as an assistant AD at Penn State, she served as special assistant to the vice president of intercollegiate athletics as well as the director of operations for the Nittany Lions softball program. Before her stay in Happy Valley, Diaz worked as a compliance coordinator at both the University of Texas at San Antonio and Jacksonville. She worked as a volleyball coach at JU and Radford.
