Final numbers are out for the recently completed firearm deer season in Illinois.
Bureau County hunters took down 966 over the 7 days, down a little more than a dozen from last year. In La Salle County, 601 deer were shot down, 100 less than last firearm season.
Hunters in Putnam County this time around got 365 deer, up about 30 from last year. In Marshall County, the deer count this firearm season 657, up nearly 60 from last season.
Statewide, Illinois hunters shot down more than 82,000 deer, an increase of about 6,000 from last season.
Archery deer season does continue through January 19th.
