Orangeburg, N.Y. (12/18/24)  Two members of the Dominican University New York women’s volleyball team have been named to the 2024 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women’s Volleyball All-Academic Team, CACC Commissioner Dan Mara announced today. The players recognized represent all 12 conference schools.

Both Linda Armao Peng and Lindley McCutcheon were named to the team for the third-time in their careers.

To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must possess a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 at the end of the immediately preceding term (may include summer for fall-sport participants), must be enrolled for at least two full-time semesters at his/her current institution, and must be a second-year student-athlete at his/her current institution. The CACC All-Academic Team was instituted during the 2004-05 academic year.

The University of Bridgeport and Holy Family University each saw eight players honored, tied for the most in the league. Post University and Thomas Jefferson University had seven players apiece named to the volleyball All-Academic Team.

Among the honorees were eight student-athletes with perfect 4.00 GPAs – Bridgeport’s Lucia Tomiello; Mia Caporellie of Chestnut Hill College (graduate GPA); Giorgia Cappelletti and Martina Croce from CACC champion Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College’s Megan Chesser; Holy Family’s Abby Bachman; and Caley Harper and Tamara Radovanov of Post University. They were part of a group of 22 players on the list with GPAs of 3.90 or higher.

Twenty-eight members of the All-Academic Team are repeat winners. That total includes 12 student-athletes who are being recognized for the third time – Amanda Arroyo and Sophia Wintonick of Bloomfield College; CHC’s Caporellie, Linda Armao Peng and Lindley McCutcheon of Dominican University New York; Georgian Court’s Dayna Diaz and Kylie Runyon; Brianna Moss and Morgan Steck from Holy Family; and Jefferson’s Mary Lauersen, Morgan Ritchie, and Aja Smith.

The 57 CACC All-Academic Women’s Volleyball honorees are four more than in 2023. The complete list can be viewed by clicking the link above.
