Central’s boys swimming team went 1-1 in a tri-meet with William Monroe at Spotswood on Wednesday.
The boys team beat William Monroe (50-37) and lost to Spotswood (55-35). Central’s girls team lost to William Monroe (55-37) and to Spotswood (62-30).
Central’s lone individual win on the night was from Bruce Mitchell (100 fly, 1:05.24). Central’s boys medley relay team of Mitchell, Devon Hawkins, Greyson Dalton and Elliot Artz qualified for the state meet at 1:58.23. They finished second in the race.
Central’s 200 free relay team of AJ Campbell, Leland Cook, Adrian Dandridge and Brayson Windsor won the race in a time of 2:24.73.
Other top individual performances from Central’s boys team were Dalton (200 free, fourth, 2:30.49, 50 free, third, 27.93), Theo Brown (200 IM, third, 2:37.00, 500 free, second, 6:19.91), Wyatt Murphy (100 free, fifth, 1:08.09), Artz (100 back, second, 1:09.00) and Elliott Mann (100 breast, fourth, 1:28.09).
Central’s 400 free relay team of Mitchell, Hawkins, Dalton and Artz finished third at 4:16.67.
Top individual performances from Central’s girls team were Taylor Jennelle (200 free, fourth, 2:44.49, 100 back, fourth, 1:25.49), Kendra Bolstridge (200 IM, third, 3:00.22, 100 free, third, 1:09.05), Kassidy Leake (50 free, fourth, 32.26), Claire Burk (100 fly, third, 1:27.33), Siena Mason (500 free, second, 7:32.34) and Anna Justine Mitchell (100 breast, fourth, 1:45.21).
Central’s girls finished third in the 200 medley relay (Burk, Mitchell, Mason, Jennelle, 2:32.38), third in the 200 free relay (Leake, Abigail Rhodes, Carleigh Pedersen, Bolstridge, 2:21.41) and fourth in the 400 free relay (Burk, Mitchell, Jennelle, Ava Pulizzi, 5:28.14).

The Generals struggled in the third quarter in a home non-district loss to the Bison.
Stonewall Jackson trailed 15-10 after the opening period, and 27-19 at the half. However, the Generals were outscored 18-5 in the third period and trailed 45-24.
Freshman Evie Hinkle led the Generals with 9 points. Sophomore Hannah Dove scored 8 points, and freshman Dani Pieratt scored 4. Sophomore Lillian Shirkey, senior Tanija Davis and freshman Aliyah Ogle each scored 3 points. Freshman Riley Davis scored 2.
The Generals (0-7, 0-1 Bull Run) play at Page County on Jan. 3.
