Returning for her fifth year, Dunne has embraced her leadership role with determination. Last season, she watched her team’s final matches from the sidelines, a moment she is keen to avoid repeating in her swan song season. Speaking about her decision to stay at LSU, Dunne’s passion for her alma mater is evident.

“No matter how many opportunities come my way off the mat, there’s just something about LSU,” Dunne said. “And that’s why I’m here to say I’m not Dunne yet.”

With high expectations from fans and teammates, Dunne is gearing up to make her final collegiate season one to remember, but her ambitions extend far beyond gymnastics.

Future goals

On December 12, 2024, Dunne celebrated a major milestone by earning her undergraduate degree from LSU. Sharing moments from the commencement ceremony on Instagram, she captioned her post, “Forever LSU,” while sparking curiosity about her post-graduation plans.

Dunne has hinted at her aspirations several times, starting with a TikTok post on January 1, 2023, where she shared her New Year’s resolutions. Her goals were straightforward yet telling: “graduate from LSU, start grad school, stay focused and motivated.”

The video amassed 1.5 million views and 230,000 likes, showing the resonance of her message with fans.

In subsequent interviews, Dunne shed more light on her career aspirations. Speaking to Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated in March 2023, she revealed her desire to delve into the business side of sports.

“I want to learn more about the business side of sports… and how I can use my platform to make a difference,” she said.

Dunne has also expressed interest in pursuing graduate studies in business or sports management, signaling her intent to leverage her platform and NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) experience to shape a career that bridges athletics and business.
