Junior Manny Johnson nearly totaled a triple-double for the 2nd-straight game, finishing with 13 points, a team-high 13 boards, and a squad-best 7 helpers.  Sophomore Isaiah Mack-Russell paced the Scarlet & Gray with a game-high 22 points. A 2023-24 Division II Honorable Mention All-Ohio selection, Mack-Russell has now poured in at least 20 points in 3 contests this season. Luke Kormuth led the Comets with 19 points, Khyier Robinson contributed 13 points.Earlier in the evening, the CCHS freshman team claimed a 43-38 triumph vs. Solon, while the junior varsity squad secured a 58-44 victory.The Fighting Irish outscored the visiting Comets 36-26 in the 2nd half to remain unbeaten.The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team defeated Solon on Saturday in a non-conference contest in the Sullivan Center.  With the double-digit home victory, CCHS improves to 4-0 on the season. The Fighting Irish will return to the hardwood against Lima Senior on Saturday, December 28, starting with the freshmen game at 2 p.m. Junior Kaeden Carruthers added 12 points and 10 caroms to post a double-double in the victory, followed closely by sophomore Cayden Kynard with 10 points.
