Here is the fourth edition of the girls and boys high school basketball rankings for the Post-Crescent coverage area. The rankings are split into Large and Small school divisions. Here is the fourth edition of the girls and boys high school basketball rankings for the Post-Crescent coverage area. The rankings are split into Large and Small school divisions. Records are through Saturday’s games.

GIRLS

Large schools (Divisions 1-2)

1, Kimberly (7-0)

Mustangs knock off Luxemburg-Casco, 75-34, this past Tuesday. Nolan Jakubek (15.4) and Cooper Effa (8.2) pace the team in scoring.

2, Hortonville (4-2)

The Rockets vault several spots in rankings after three wins in five-day span: 66-56 over Kaukauna, 53-29 at Appleton East and 80-43 over Kenosha Indian Trail. Joey Daun (14.0) and Luke Jung (12.5) lead the team in scoring.

3, Neenah (6-3)

4, Appleton North (5-4)

Wolves’ fast start to season continues with wins over Weyauwega-Fremont (64-43) and Ripon (69-50). Team has tough nonconference matchup at Xavier on Saturday.

5, Menasha (5-5)

Offense erupts for Polar Bears in 98-64 victory over Kaukauna. Rainey Welson leads the way with 32 points. Team has big nonconference matchup with Notre Dame at Sun Drop Shootout on Saturday.

Papermakers rout Oshkosh West, 73-35, and are now ranked No. 2 in the state in the WisSports.net coaches poll in Division 1. Raegan Krueger (15.1), Ava Van Vonderen (13.5) and Haylie Dulas (12.9) lead the team in scoring.

Small schools (Divisions 3-5)

1, Freedom (8-0)

Tigers get 59-48 victory over Ripon on Saturday. Adahlyn Hoerl (21.8) and Erietta Davis (10.4) lead Chilton in scoring.

2, St. Mary Catholic (8-1)

Freedom’s defense one of the best in the area, allowing just 36 points per game. Jaydah Bork leads the team in assists (4.0 per game) and steals (3.1).

3, Winneconne (8-0)

Others: Appleton East (3-5), Fox Valley Lutheran (3-4).Lightning knocks off Oshkosh North, 58-46, on Friday. Team has huge FVA matchup at Kimberly on Jan. 3.

4, Chilton (7-4)

5, Seymour (5-4)

Rockets get past Appleton East, 75-65, in overtime Friday and play Monona Grove in Wisconsin Dells on Dec. 30. Rowan Klesmit (25.4) and Ellie Buss (13.4) lead the team in scoring.The Irish nearly reach 100-point mark in 99-42 victory at Clintonville this past Friday. Team is led in scoring by Donovan Davis (24.9), Drew Kortz (21.1) and Kaden Vandenberg (15.7).

BOYS

Large schools (Divisions 1-2)

1, Kaukauna (4-1)

Zephyrs defeat Sheboygan Lutheran, 79-58, behind 35 points and 14 rebounds from Emily Vogel. Team plays Mosinee at Green Bay Preble Holiday Tournament on Friday.

2, Neenah (4-2)

Ghosts bounce back from first loss against Neenah to defeat Hortonville, 81-73, on Friday. Andrew Jensen is second on the team in scoring (19.2) and leads in rebounding (10.8).3, Hortonville (4-2)Polar Bears suffer back-to-back losses to Fond du Lac and Kaukauna this past week. Team will look to get back on track with game against Pulaski on Saturday.4, Appleton North (4-2)Lightning gets big victory over Oshkosh North, 56-53, with Will Sweeney scoring 21 points. Sweeney (14.6) and Grant Hardy (13.0) lead team in scoring.5, Brillion (6-1)Lions crush New Holstein, 79-47, last Friday. Owen Krepline is one of the top scorers in the area and is averaging 27.3 points.Others: Menasha (3-2), Appleton East (3-4).

Small schools (Divisions 3-5)

1, Freedom (7-0)

The Bluejays remain in top five despite loss to Xavier, 56-51, on Friday. Hannah Neubert leads the team in points (17.4) and rebounds (11.3).

2, Little Chute (4-1)

The Thunder is on a two-game losing streak after 76-40 loss to West De Pere. Team plays nonconference game at Oregon on Friday.3, Fox Valley Lutheran (4-1)Foxes hold off Denmark, 72-63, this past Tuesday. Lucas Papendorf (12.6) and Graham Feidt (10.6) lead the team in scoring.4, Xavier (5-2)Hawks move up one spot after beating Menasha (68-62) and Milwaukee North (60-54) on Friday and Saturday, respectively.5, Seymour (5-2)Thunder has dropped two of its last three games, including 76-70 defeat against West De Pere on Friday. Kyler Marks leads the team in scoring (20.0) and rebounding (11.0).Others: Wrightstown (4-2), St. Mary Catholic (3-4).
