The NCAA Indoor Championships are set for the weekend of March 14. The Bobcats will spend the majority of the indoor season bouncing across the state of Ohio for meets. That includes three stops in Akron, one for the Al Campbell Invitational (January 17), another for the Akron Invitational (January 31) and the final for the MAC Indoor Championships (February 28-March 1). The Bobcats will also go to Dayton for the Gem City Invitational, hosted by the Flyers, on February 8. “They’ve put in a lot of work. They’ve been really committed and dedicated, and they as a group want to be really good, so it’s not a couple of people here and there. It’s the entire program that has goals. It’s fun to work with them,” head coach Sarah Pease said. Ohio also has 26 fresh faces on its roster this season, with many looking to add to the existing depth of the team. All but one are freshmen, with junior Emma Kennett (Troy, Ohio) being the lone transfer from UNC Asheville. ATHENS, Ohio — The Ohio track and field team starts its indoor season Friday afternoon at the Falcon Early Bird Open in Bowling Green, Ohio. It’s the first meet of many in the quick indoor season, and Ohio is ready to showcase its talent. #OUOhyeah“Having Taja (Brooker) back and healthy for her last year, I know that she’s going to have a great season. She ran really well last spring for us, and just having her leadership with the younger group is nice,” Pease said. “And in the throws, Millie (Ryan) is our lone senior in that group. She took a ton of steps forward last season.”The Bobcats also boast a wealth of talent in the sprint and field events. There are several key returners that will make the difference in those events. Other meets Ohio will attend include Notre Dame’s Meyo Invitational from January 31 to February 1 and the Marshall Invitational on the weekend of February 14. Ohio’s furthest meet from home is the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston, on the weekend of February 14 as well. With a strong distance group returning, the Bobcats look to capitalize on those events. The Bobcats finished second at the 2024 Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championship.
