However, victims like David and Diane say they don’t believe a word John Frias says and want homeowners to be on the lookout for him. So, two months ago, David looked around and came across this ad in his community newspaper. It was a company called Rock Spread, and it claimed it could do exactly what David wanted. It could deliver and spread rock to refresh a thinning yard. All you had to do was call “John,” the ad said, and that’s exactly what David did. “He seemed to be knowledgeable. He, brought samples. He told me what size I needed,” David said.On Your Side was unable to locate John Frias. He recently posted an ad on Craigslist saying he’s the “…best choice for sprinkler repair.”David said, “You know, people work hard for their money. They say save and do the right thing.
