Game 1 Recap: Pilots Cruise to 11-0 Victory

Steady offense added runs in the second and fourth innings, increasing the lead to 4-0. The fifth inning proved explosive as LSUS plated six runs. Jose Sallorin delivered the highlight of the game with an infield home run, scoring Cooper Huspen in the process.
The Pilots were led offensively by Josh Gibson, who tallied three hits, five stolen bases, and an RBI on the day. Vantrel Reed added a hit and three RBIs, while DJ Walker and Jose Sallorin each contributed two RBIs. Ryan Davenport shined on the base paths with four stolen bases, and Jackson Syring added two of his own.
The Pilots return to action at Pilot Field on Friday, January 31, with a doubleheader against Central Baptist College at 3 p.m. and IU Southeast at 6 p.m. 

Game 2 Recap: Pilots Secure 10-3 Victory

The Pilots wasted no time setting the tone in the first game, capitalizing on early walks. RBIs by Austin Gomm and Tamden Webb-Tate with the bases loaded gave LSUS a 2-0 lead in the opening inning.
The second game saw the Pilots pull away in the sixth inning, scoring five runs to seal the win. McPherson struggled with defensive errors, giving LSUS opportunities to capitalize.

Notable Performances

On the mound, Draven Zeigler earned the win with an impressive four-inning performance, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out five. McPherson’s Noah Thomas suffered the loss, pitching one inning and giving up three runs, six walks, and one strikeout.
