- The Terps are coming off of a 79-61 win at Oregon Thursday. Sarah Te-Biasu led the way with 26 points, Kaylene Smikle added 21 and Saylor Poffenbarger scored 13 with 11 boards. Allie Kubek added 11 points.
- Most recently, the 7th-seeded Huskies upset 2nd-seeded Maryland, 74-65, in the NCAA Second Round in College Park on March 21, 2016.
- Frese reached 600 wins at Maryland Thursday night. Langley was on Frese’s staff for 195 of those wins.

Washington head coach Tina Langley was associate head coach on Brenda Frese‘s staff at Maryland from 2009-2015. Langley helped the Terrapins to the 2014 and 2015 Final Fours. Washington assistant coach David Adkins was also on the Maryland staff from 2009-2014. Adkins’ daughter, Ryland, is the current Maryland director of basketball operations.
- Head coach Brenda Frese is in her 23rd season in College Park. She’s led the Terrapins to a record of 600-166 (.783), 14 conference titles, 20 NCAA Tournament bids in 22 postseasons, three Final Fours, seven Elite Eights, 11 Sweet Sixteens and the 2006 NCAA Championship.
- Frese owns a career record of 657-196 (.770) over her 26 years as a head coach.
- Frese was named National Coach of the Year by the AP, The Athletic and ESPN at the end of the 2020-21 season. In October 2021, Frese was the first woman inducted into the Washington DC Metro Basketball Hall of Fame.
- With the Terrapins’ win at Nebraska on Feb. 14, 2021, Frese picked up win No. 500 at Maryland, which makes her the winningest coach in Maryland basketball history. Hall of Fame women’s basketball head coach Chris Weller won 499 games in her 27 seasons (1975-02).
